I was thinking the same. The "federal privacy laws" piece has me a bit concerned that it's something legally related.
Sounds more like grades to me. Legal issues aren't always subject to privacy laws. The "federal privacy laws" piece has me a bit concerned that it's something legally related.
He isn't allowed to practice or play . My gut says this will be some metoo thing. The "federal privacy laws" piece has me a bit concerned that it's something legally related.

An allegation not filed wouldn't be pending yet nor an arrest over this weekend or later. They don't pop up day of. So it is still not ruled out.
I don't remember too many people being suspended from the entire University and not being allowed to practice due to grades.Grades

Um arrest absolutely pops up day of or after because it goes into a NC crime system as and at least one arrest record or citation record is printed out for media and public. If Jalek was in legal trouble we would have known. An allegation not filed wouldn't be pending yet nor an arrest over this weekend or later. They don't pop up day of. So it is still not ruled out.
I think Pinson becomes the primary backup with Platek also being available.Welp, I hope the issue is resolved soon. Our only healthy backup now is B Rob.![]()
That is no indicator one way or the other. Could be pretty much anything as far as the Privacy Act goes. Honor code maybe? Dunno at this point, but either way it ain't good. The "federal privacy laws" piece has me a bit concerned that it's something legally related.
That just made my stomach hurt for a variety of reasons, Dave. Obviously for his sake, I'm hoping for the best outcome for Jalek personally. As for the team, if we've seen the last of him we are in deep, deep sh** next season.OK, so IMO this is not just about grades, it is more than that, he was not suspended from the team, he was suspended from the school. So this is either honor code (cheating, not attending classes) or could be crime blotter but be willing to bet that we have seen the last of Jalek as a Tar Heel. I have heard that 7th's rumors of maybe being gone have been put aside, glad to hear, now it kinda looks like we know who our starting PG may be next season and it isn't likely to be Jalek.
I do not know about NC in particular but most crimes have a few days (some up to a year) before they are filled and charged as the police decide what to charge you with.Um arrest absolutely pops up day of or after because it goes into a NC crime system as and at least one arrest record or citation record is printed out for media and public. He is probably done at UNC for good, but he is definitely done at UNC for the year, right?. He can't go to class as he is suspended from the University?
Arrest in NC are usually reported in a day or two. The police can enter the reason for the arrest. The charges could change, but a reason is listed.I do not know about NC in particular but most crimes have a few days (some up to a year) before they are filled and charged as the police decide what to charge you with.
Maybe North Carolina just rushes to the gate. I do not know. Most States they have paperwork and stuff to fill out and are not filed right away.
