Fwiw Looking at unc edu’s site concerning academic suspension and the honor code.

An academic/grade suspension woulda happened before the current semester started two weeks ago. He would not have been able to enroll.

As for arrests or legal probs when i was there the univ took no action against students who were arrested for minor offenses unless the crime involved another student or the univ (on campus). i know this cause well...i was arrested a couple times. Now the team is a diff story. The fb and bball team would discipline players who were arrested for dui’s or theft and such but once again with felton this is not the team but the school suspending him. And once again no searches turn up any pending court appearances in the counties he frequents.

So most likely explanation is honor code violation. The code covers a huge spectrum of behavior ON CAMPUS. The timeline fits given the process for hearings and such, as does the punishment. One of the five possible sanctions the honor court can hand down against a student for violation is a suspension where the student has to leave campus. This is what this sounds like. A suspension is not expulsion and students can return or be readmitted after a prescibed period of time if they follow some procedures set forth by the honor court.

No one credible though, just random people speculating.
All I'll say is that if it in fact does turn out to be a Title IX deal, no one should jump to any conclusions. We as fans should presume innocence til proven otherwise (especially in this day and age) and hope the facts vindicate him. If they don't, then it is what it is.

I’m trying not to guess as to what the accusations are but based on the attorney hired and who they previously represented along with the school currently gathering evidence in the case, I think I have an educated guess.

So how is he not being punished for something but is suspended lol
Basically, they are investigating if he did something wrong and suspended him while investigating.

It is pretty clearly sexual assault or assault allegation based on what we know, in my opinion.

Based on the attorney it looks like a sexual misconduct case. Jalek probably should start going to the gym and putting shots up instead of messing with the WW

Kent C. Straight...

Hilarious...Can't see straight...yeah, he's legit.

I've been hearing from those in the "know" that Felton also posted an inappropriate instagram story with a naked woman on it saying "She was ready.. Hit her up", amongst other things

I may be wrong but I can’t see this being grades. Standard practice with grades would be a semester of academic probation. He’s only completed one semester so he should’ve been on probation if it was grades.

To be suspended by the university, this almost has to be something more.

This is freakin nuts, Now Berry has to play nearly 40 mpg while Woods is injured. Unbelievable.
Theo plays a lot at point, but Joel is usually in there when he does, I think. Is that true?

Will we see Theo at point without Joel on the court? That could be interesting.

Andrew and BRob have both been promising recently. Joel needs some rest; give those guys more minutes.

Or how about Kenny sliding over, with Theo on the court to split ball-handling duties?

Those options might blow up against some defenses, but I'm not sure it's much of a risk against most teams.

Just a heads up but the NCAA is supposed to rule to allow transfers without sitting out this off-season. So, we could potentially get a transfer in also.
Tell us more. Are you thinking of someone in particular?

Would Jalek transfer elsewhere? Would it still count as a transfer if he has been suspended?

So, can we compare Felton's season to Drew's yet? Or is that still taboo?
Felton wasn't a disruptive influence, in my opinion. Got us riled up sometimes. Excited sometimes. Didn't look happy sometimes. But didn't look like he was infecting others. Just ups and downs.

I hope this blows over and he comes back with renewed purpose. I still think he will be good - and a UNC star - if he really applies himself. It would be a real shame for all concerned if this is the end of his career here.

Whatever happens, I will remember that when UNC recruiting was in its deepest doldrums, Jalek stepped forward, thumbed his nose at the nay-sayers, and said he wanted to be a Heel.

He gets a lot of points for that. He would have to have done something pretty bad to erase the credit he's built up with me.

I could see that resulting in a suspension. But a brief one - as long as he is appropriately contrite and maybe has some counseling.

Depends on the situation. If the girl is saying he spread her nudes to the public and she was passed out drunk or inebriated or some shit, that could get very nasty very quickly.

Today's kids? Is it really anything new for student athletes (or college kids in general) to get in trouble for grades/drugs/alcohol/sex/fighting/you name it?
Not anything new as any of us over the age of 30 can likely attest to. Heck, as long as there have been kids, there have been kids doing dumb shiite and getting into trouble. What I said was there seems to be a lack of appreciation for what you have in today's kids. In my experience with them, as a coach, and being involved in all kinds of sports and other activities with my kids since their middle school days (oldest just turned 20 and youngest will be 18 tomorrow), a lot of kids today feel more like everything they have was owed to them anyway, so they don't really appreciate it as much.

But, that is just my experience and may not be the case with everyone else. Just calling it like I see it.

Andrew might not have the blazing speed, quickness or flash for playing point but I truly believe he has the bball IQ for it. Hope things work out for the better with Jalek but at some point he's got to realize he aint in high school any more. Lessons learned hard are lessons learned long though. jmho

Well . . . for those of us old enough that the Sears catalog was the closest we ever got to porn, yes, it's something new. ;)
