Fun fact for ya. I’ve maybe only had a milkshake from Cookout 2-3 times in my life and my last one was probably 15 years ago when I was in high school.

They have some good ones. My favorite one is probably their watermelon one, but they only serve that like two months out of the year so I haven't had one in a long time.

I've actually never had a float before of any kind. Ice cream in a soft drink just seems weird to me, so I've never tried it. How are they?

The cookout near me sucks. Burgers are always way overdone and dry. Gave up going there. Theres another cookout across town that serves em up juicy. Dont know wtf the prob is.

Heres the secret to a delicous float. Make sure the soda is ice cold. Ppur your soda in a glass of ice and shake well then strain into a big cup. My favorite is grape nehi with vanilla ice cream. Delicous. Sun drop works well too.

How do you drink (eat? consume?) one anyway? Do you mix it all up so the ice cream will melt, turning it into sort of a cream soda? Do you put a straw to it, drink it, then finish off the rest of the ice cream with a spoon? Do you spoon out the ice cream first? It seems so foreign to me.

You eat it whichever way *floats* your boat.

Really, whenever I've had a float, I do some sort of combination of the ways @coolwaterunc described. When I was at UNC, occasionally I would make a variation of a float at the dining hall by putting soft serve in whatever soft drink I had that day.

Get the caramel fudge shake with bacon next time. Not kidding

I went back to Cookout for lunch, by the way. I went with the BBQ sandwich since RH had me craving their cheap BBQ. For sides, I went with a cajun chicken wrap (to satisfy my need for spicy chicken) and a bacon wrap again (the bacon wrap is a staple for me). I'm pretty sure my body is telling me to stop eating Cookout for a while because I've felt sluggish as hell. That's two straight meals at Cookout for me, so I think I'm just gonna snack on some carrot sticks tonight.

By the way, there's a fridge full of Cheerwine in the vending area downstairs at work, and you guys have made it very hard for me to not cave and get one. I'm not sure how much longer I can last.
