Unfortunately, during the last few seasons all too many UNC "fans" developed an "Eat your own" mentality. That bothers me infinitely more than any number of asshat posters from other fanbases.

I dont think you understand. You want posters to be "nice" to Duke fans even though we dont agree with what they say, but its ok if you are rude to fellow UNC fans because you dont agree with what they say? Kind of a double standard. What do you want? The world to stop for you?
He never asked anyone to be nice to the dookie nor was he rude to any unc fan. He only asked that the dookie be treated civilly and not as a troll. Pretty much the exact opposite of a double standard. I couldn't care less about the dookies opinion myself but he never posted anything remotely resembling flaming or trolling. If u need an example of a post thats rude to a unc fan check this out

Yikes. The time people have.... that was after a few fans decided to bash one of our own over recruiting info. I agree with Mikey, keep it to recruiting.
Yep, ye another hijacked thread gone to the wasteland for the same nonsense as usual and by one of the usual suspects. The poster tried to make the point that the dukie was not being out of line or spouting nonsense while tar Heels tried to explain that many of us considered what he was saying as total nonsense, at best jaded by his loyalty skewed opinions that he felt the need to present as indisputable facts. So I offer a break down of those so called facts so those that claim they can not understand why UNC fans reacted as they did can understand it.
"I understand your point here and don't disagree with you except that Tatum leaving is not on the list of things he is watching, it is on the list of unpredictables that would change things drastically - and you can't wait around for those." The first half of the first sentence says I do not disagree with you so here is why I disagree with you? The second half of the first sentence takes the posters opinion and elevates it in his mind to complete fact? Not only is it opinion as opposed to fact it is a strange opinion that anyone would not wait for something to occur that would have huge impact on a decision, even if they think they already know the out come. It is like stating for fact that you already know who our next president will be?
"K/Roy retiring is arguably as likely as Tatum staying." This is just a silly toss in included to try to help his case, it has nothing at all to do with the discussion or the point he was trying to make. Unless you are the kid you do not know what is not his list of things he is waiting til the spring to watch but there has never been any indication I have seen that he is even thinking in terms of Roy or K retiring.
"Retirements are also not things we need to wait to see if it happens - it'd be something that he'd be made aware of well in advance and would change the landscape of his decision." Just makes no sense to really believe that coaches will make recruits aware of their plans to retire if that coach is looking to keep it a secret? If a coach is not going to keep it secret he announces this will be the last season and if he does want it secret then he tells no one, especially not a recruit that talks to other programs.
"But a kid doesn't wait to see if a certainty actually happens. Duke could go on NCAA probation and no one is waiting around to see if it happens. There is a long list of things that Knox isn't considering because they either ARE or ARE NOT going to happen and Tatum leaving is on that list." Doesn't this make you want to scream how silly? For the second paragraph in a row he is trying to sell the notion that a kid does not find it important to wait and see if what he thinks will happen actually does ?
"Let me ask you this, are we going to have to wait on Carter to make his decision until he's sure Giles is gone? I think the clear answer is no, and Giles has a couple of (ACL) issues that Tatum doesn't." He is actually now using as fact that Carter has committed to duke, while I do expect Carter to do just that, sorry but I missed the announcement that Carter had already committed to duke? So how can that be claimed as fact, especially to eliminate the reason a kid is waiting till the spring when carter himself could wait till the spring as well? Maybe CARTER WANTS TO WAIT TIL THE SPRING TO SEE FOR SURE IF GILES LEAVES, ever thought of that?

I think we all would. Problem is, with every major recruit we go for, it seems like an uphill battle.
