Agree with Archer’s sentiment. There’s no accountability in America as we baby 18-21 year old kids with little to no consequence for stealing, drugs, etc. hell for many it takes repeat offenses/3 strikes before things get real with time behind bars. That’s a joke in itself and stealing is against the law. And stealing things from LV of a certain value most certainly will get you in some shit in China as it should. Lavar Ball is a piece of shit that the media has given a platform. That’s all he is.

Calling China a communist country is a misnomer. They’re “communist” in name only. It’s basically state sponsored capitalism.

That being said, East Asian countries are far more strict when it comes to crimes we consider minor. In that regard, those kids should have known better. But 3-10 years in prison? That’s over the top.

Poor parenting is the cause of many problems in our country. That’s what this boils down to.

A lot of college kids FRESHMAN have stolen out of stores before. 18 year old kids that where just in a high school months ago, and staying with there parents. They make some very stupid mistakes TRUST ME!

I can't call poor parenting, I call out Lavar for maybe not having the proper guidance or self knowledge of how popularity works. Once you gain it all your moves are watched and your mistakes are way more costly, and in China nobody gives a darn about big baller brand!

These cats are in real trouble. Lavar saying not a big deal is fine with me. He was pushing his wife in a wheelchair. Her son has just been arrested in a foreign country. What do you want him to say. Positive thoughts got his son to the Lakers, he better hope China has some too.

Latest reports - They are confined to their hotel rooms. Could be stuck in China for days, weeks, or MONTHS during legal process.

Ya know things are really funny, we have just had 2 separate threads about Joel breaking his hand in which he was called as doing something very stupid, a point that I have not nor will agree with. But ya want to see real stupid, real stupid is what these UCLA kids did in China. They are fortunate that China does not want to cause a national incident about all of this but that is real stupid with a side of dumb arse!

Frankly, kinda losing any respect for Alford I may have had, why keep putting up with this Ball side show? I get the older kid was talented, get the youngsters are as well but are they really worth all this negative attention they are drawing to that UCLA program? Best thing Alford could do is to cut the Ball kid now on roster and disassociate completely with that entire Ball side show.

If Lavar really gave a shit about his family he would have spend a little more time over that last few years being a father and not pimping his kids out to the world of sports and shoes to line his own pockets.

He is an idiot I feel sorry for the kids on that level but when you turn into a thief, in communist China you take stupid to the next step. This is nothing more than a kid that has I can do what I want aditude I'm a Ball well China don't give a damn who you are. There isn't a lawyer on earth that can help them they are truly at the mercy of their government they better pray they don't want to make an example of some Americans.

Chill out on the profanity before it gets worse and you guys know what happens if it does.Just want to keep this a clean board, you forget who reads these threads.

Best post on this thread

Dismiss all 3 from the team and cut ties with the Ball family.

If I am not mistaken, UCLA is suppose to play Ga. Tech in China....Two teams who will showcase a lot of 2nd stringers for the Chinese to cheer for....

But to call them communist is simply inaccurate.
They identify themselves as Communists, enough said.

Except it doesn’t. Mike, you cannot call the Chinese actual communists. Not economically anyway. This isn’t the Mao Zedong era we are talking about it. That’s a poor analogy.
You're arguing semantics. Yes, they have adopted certain capitalistic traits as far as their economy is concerned, they had to to compete and feed their industrial revolution.

But we're not talking economics here, we're talking politics. Politically, they're very much communists at heart. Just ask them, they'll tell you. And as such, their people have far fewer rights than we do in America.

I remember being in Turkey as a sailor and our officers telling us that talking to the women was a no no. Hell, spitting on the sidewalk could get you jail time. When in Rome, you have to do as the freakin' Romans do!

Basically, you are simply not happy unless you turn every thread into a whizzing match, getting old.

Well technically it’s about LiAngelo Ball getting arrested in China. I just think communism is more about economics than politics and calling China communist isn’t entirely accurate.
Every where you look it up, they are indeed communist, but carry on, you will be arguing with yourself somewhere else.
