You might not see the distinction but many do. If my picture was photoshopped in place of Trump’s, l would laugh. But the office of the President deserves more respect, regardless of who is in office. Obviously, many Dems disagree. I wonder if they will feel the same if it was Obama or Clinton’s face in that picture.

It's juvenile and it's an easy target. I didn't find it to be funny. But, I'm not bothered by other people who do. Trump has quite a history of inappropriate sexual behavior. Well my personal take on the Founders and religion is this.
What I meant by 'natural' is that most of the Founders believed religion and government operated in separate areas of life, hence why there is no official religion of the United States. They didn't want an official church tied to state power like there is in England or Italy.
Christianity played a huge role in the communities and private lives of people who lived in that era. But it's debate in the public forum has no doubt increased since the fifties. That's also why I think Reagan made a huge mistake pairing up with Jerry Falwell and the whole 'Moral Majority" crowd. I consider myself a believer in God and the gospel, but I do not want a bunch of Evangelicals dictating what should be legal and what shouldn't.
Also, regarding Trump giving a military salute to the North Koreans. I talked to a good friend of mine the other day who served in the military and is staunchly against Trump. He said that he didn't do anything wrong by giving that salute. As the commander in chief, he returned the salute of a foreign military subordinate, key word being subordinate. All Presidents have shown international decorum before, including Thomas Jefferson, who once bowed to the king of France.
The king of France wasn’t running a nationwide concentration camp for his citizens.
ETA: I’m familiar with Louis XVI. Not a cool dude. But his atrocities didn’t come close to the scale that kim’s have. And I would have made the same argument about Jefferson doing it, and he’s my favorite president.

For me, as far as religion and "faith" goes; Once people are convinced that their understanding is "The Truth", or the superior and ONLY CORRECT WAY, then they just go about criticizing and condemning everything and everyone else. "If God be with us, who can be against us?" That is SO fvcking dangerous to actually believe that you belong to the "chosen group" of the one-and-only-God. 9/11 is a prime example of such a belief. The Crusades are another example.
I'm just saying that Presidents have always shown decorum in front of Monarchy's including Obama. He bowed to the Saudi king, and that country ain't exactly sunshine and unicorns.

Yep. We sold our ethics for natural resources and geopolitics a long time ago. I hate it. IMO the Islamic world is a perfect example of why religion must be kept out of politics.
I am not of the opinion that the motive of every Presidential Administration and the country as a whole has been to exploit or abuse. I am of the opinion, however, that fear of the spread communism, or nowadays modern terrorism, has lead us to bad decisions in either supporting dictatorial regimes or engaging in conflicts that have backfired majorly.
Life and history would be much simpler if nations followed the codes and laws they set out for themselves, but you and I both know that it's far more nuanced than that. Far more than some idiot like Michael Moore believes it is.
