I know we are all thrilled to have Marcus join the coaching staff. My question is whether he will be able to actually coach our backcourt players, or if he is stuck doing mainly admin things as Director of Team and Player Development.

Can someone clarify that for me?

Cadeau isn't being thrust into the starting PG role ahead of time, like Marcus was, but it can't hurt Cadeau's adjustment to work with a guy like Marcus, who's already been there.

The NCAA is supposed to be now considering allowing more guys in support staff roles to do more court coaching, some would suggest that will happen along with giving players 5 seasons of eligibility. Until and unless this is passed by the NCAA no, Marcus can not be a floor coach in practice. Players can come to him for advice or to talk about things they feel comfortable discussing with him but he can not actively coach.

Paige being on our staff is a good thing! Whether peeps get to take advantage of his expertise or not is up to them!

One of the hardest things to do in all sports is projecting how good a coach (head/assistant/staff) will end up being.

Seth and Paige-experience and grown man strength + serious defensive chops prevail!

Cadeau and RJ would be good together and if they got enough time to gel, they could win some games in a series.

BTW: Paige on our team is a good thing no matter if he ever becomes whatever a great coach is! He loves the U, he has extremely good character, he knows the game all the way to the pro level, he is young enough to relate, he has always given max effort, he knows the value of working to achieve even if it doesn't happen instantly! Just working with young guards and being an example is already a great contribution!
