Matthew . .

Wow they screwed the pooch forecasting this one! After hearing all week it was gonna pass to the south car beach took a direct hit. Thank god it had downgraded. Then the cold front combines with the back side of the storm and we get freaking 60 mph gusts a full three hours AFTER the eye past over. The dumbasses in carolina beach opened thr bridge afternthe eye passed only to see the worst part of the storm hit later. What a fiasco.

Post-storm flooding is looking like it's going to be pretty ugly around here. And lots of folks without power aren't expecting to get it back any time soon.

Whoa . . . where is that, J . . ?
Not sure if serious?

If you have ever in your life traveled I-95 across the NC/SC border you have seen South of the Border and the dozens of billboards for what seems like hours in each directions.

I think that picture is from Saturday during the storm itself but I'm not sure.

Okay.

I've only crossed into SC on I-95 one time, that on my way to FLA.

Sorry J-man, I just don't get out much . .

No problem, I just take it for granted that everyone in this part of the country has traveled that stretch of road and seen all those corny billboards.

And for the record, I've never actually stopped at SOTB. I think maybe Arwen has been there once when she was little.

I have stopped there 3 times. I usually go to N.M.B. 495 to Goldsboro and then to 17 thru Wilmington as long as it isn't the wrong time of day. Actually you can miss Goldsboro completely now. S.O.T.B. just started out as a conv. store so peeps from a dry county could ride over for beer.

Apparently it's pretty bad in the Lumberton area. My grandmother's out there trapped in her neighborhood. My dad tried to get out there and said that about 15 exits worth of road on 95 is closed down. He also had a friend who lost his house and had to be rescued. Crazy stuff.
