Ok, so since this region is renamed, I'm gonna submit these for your consideration (and I'll break my nominees up by the categories, as I see them)
Sports: Rocky, Rudy, Remember the Titans, Bull Durham, Caddyshack, The Sandlot (Hypothetically, if those last two don't make it here, can they be re-submitted for comedy? Just wondering)
Horror: Jaws, Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, Alien (could double as sci-fi, but it's in the same region anyway)
Sci-Fi: Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, E.T., The Matrix, Back to the Future (this one could be in another region)
Fantasy: Lord of the Rings (Any one of the 3), The Princess Bride, The Wizard of Oz
Musicals: The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Singin' in the Rain, Grease, The Blues Brothers (willing to move this as well)

Right now we have 61 movies with 14 that have dual nominations as of right now the notashelbyfan bracketlogy is saying Rocky is a lock to be in and Wrong turn 3, the hills have eyes 2, Flubber, and hellboy2 are the first 4 out.

I've just been re-reading this thread, and this movie, along with Godfather 1/2 and Pulp Fiction, while great movies, qualify more in the 3rd category (drama/crime/war) than this one in my opinion. I definitely am in favor of including them in the tournament, but I think they belong in that region since all the main characters are criminals as opposed to a category featuring the likes of Rocky Balboa, Freddy Krueger, Luke Skywalker, Frodo Baggins, Maria Von Trapp and....well, I haven't seen a documentary mentioned, but you get the picture.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
We have 76 total movies so here what I'm thinking.
There are 5 movies with more than 2 nominations those 5 will be automatically in.
There are 18 more that have at least 2 nominations we will vote for the final 11 movit's to come from there that sound ok to everyone?

The polls are up for the final 11 spots you vote for 5 on one and 6 on the other go vote the polls close this time tomorrow night and when we get the 16 teams I will draw for seeding!
To late but police Academy, Beverly Hills cop could go for other regions those will start after we figure out the seeding for this region.
I haven't read this whole thread or really any of the threads having to do with the movie tournament, but only a rube would consider The Karate Kid a "sports" movie. WTH is wrong with you?
