Mueller Probe Leaks Grand Jury Indictment(s) To CNN...

So Mueller was the FBI director from 2001-2013 and they have been investigating Manafort since 2004 and most of the crimes he is accused of occurred between 2006/7 and 2014. Why was he not arrested years ago?

The best I can find is that the U1 facilities have capacity to process 20% of the US production, not produce. And to process that much it would have to come from other facilities as the mine itself cannot produce that much.

Look - the U1 US holdings are crap. Plus we still control what happens to the uranium. Russia wanted the company because of it's other holdings around the world. Don't act like it's a big traitorous act, cause it ain't. I mean the Canadians were running it in the first place. ARRRRG National Security!!!!
Now if you want to say the deal itself is shady that's fine but we'll need to see some proof.

BTW - I thought Trump said it would be great to get along with the Russians.

Do you have a link to what you are saying here?

Thanks. The article was well-written. It confirms that we allowed Russia to corner the market on 20% of the US uranium reserves, even if it is lower grade ore:

"But here's the thing ― by 20%, we really mean almost zero.

Those U.S. facilities obtained by Russia produce almost nothing. The uranium deposits are of relatively poor grade and are too costly to compete on the uranium market. But the facilities do have good milling capacity to process ore, if anyone gives it to them, which hasn’t happened in about 10 years. Theoretically, they could process 20% of our ore, but that will never happen. Uranium One couldn’t give these facilities away."

Why would anyone in their right mind allow even THIS to happen given that the FBI had ample evidence and inside informant who was providing the goods on the bribes, kickbacks, extortion, and money laundering and the fact that Russia is, has been, and always will be our country's greatest national security threat?

"Rather than take action against this deal, the Department of Justice just continued investigating the matter for years, essentially leaving the American public, Congress, the secretary of state and the administration in the dark about more Russian meddling in the United States, this time involving nuclear.... It is still not clear why no one at the FBI alerted the Obama administration to the Russian kickbacks, extortion threats and money laundering before these decisions were made."

That is a big part of why this must be investigated. Who in the FBI made these decisions? Why did they let it go on for so long before taking action? Who stood to benefit from the Uranium One sale and what was the nature of that benefit? These are just a few of the questions I have. But I could streamline this and tell you that Bubba got double speaking fee in Moscow, sought out meeting with Russian officials involved with the Uranium One sale and a personal meeting with Putin just before the sale. Right after the sale, the Clinton foundation received roughly $145M from Russians, many of whom were involved in the sale.

I'm very interested to here the testimony of the undercover informant. I think that will break this thing wide-freakin;-open...

Funny how you get "cornered the market" from what I see as a "non-profitable asset". POV I guess. :)

LIke I said, you can claim that the deal was shady and considering what we have heard from the FBI, something was going on. But don't keep throwing around useless facts - Over $130M of that "Russian money" came from Frank Giustra (a Canadian) who had sold off his U1 shares 3 years before the company was sold and a year and half before HC was SoS.

Not to say Frank who had many ties with Russia due to his past energy dealings didn't help the deal but it's simply not true that $145 M in Russian money is the smoking gun some think it is.

With respect to the article stating that no uranium could be exported by the Russians, The Hill is reporting this morning that some yellow cake uranium did in fact get exported to Europe:

"NRC memos reviewed by The Hill shows that it did approve the shipment of yellowcake uranium — the raw material used to make nuclear fuel and weapons — from the Russian-owned mines in the United States to Canada in 2012 through a third party. Later, the Obama administration approved some of that uranium going all the way to Europe, government documents show.

NRC officials said they could not disclose the total amount of uranium that Uranium One exported because the information is proprietary. They did, however, say that the shipments only lasted from 2012 to 2014 and that they are unaware of any exports since then.

NRC officials told The Hill that Uranium One exports flowed from Wyoming to Canada and on to Europe between 2012 through 2014, and the approval involved a process with multiple agencies.

Rather than give Rosatom a direct export license — which would have raised red flags inside a Congress already suspicious of the deal — the NRC in 2012 authorized an amendment to an existing export license for a Paducah, Ky.,-based trucking firm called RSB Logistics Services Inc. to simply add Uranium One to the list of clients whose uranium it could move to Canada.

The license, reviewed by The Hill, is dated March 16, 2012, and it increased the amount of uranium ore concentrate that RSB Logistics could ship to the Cameco Corp. plant in Ontario from 7,500,000 kilograms to 12,000,000 kilograms and added Uranium One to the “other parties to Export.”

The move escaped notice in Congress."

So they had to get approval from the US govt. before exported some. Almost like the US still controls what happens to the ore.
