NC gets hosed by NCAA seeding committee IMO. Toughest bracket.

What a surprise, as soon as you make counterarguments that aren't 100% Pro-UNC, you get labeled as attempting to divide our fanbase.

So in case some of you forgot, All 3 top seeds in the West made it to the next round. With much more ease compared to us btw. WVU is already out. BUT WAIT! Wasn't this a team which many claimed was a "dark horse to win the title" and "the most underrated 3 seed in the tourney"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'll gladly recheck the original post. The next 2 games could decide our fate. We get past the S16 with Xavier potentially kicking the bucket, and we may just cake walk into the Final Four ourselves. No complaints then, I'm sure.

But tell us again why we should worry about Dook's seeding vs wanting our own team to win our becomingly easy region? Maddening

Tell me how the fact we are playing a very good Providence team next and if we are fortunate enough to win that game we get the winner of Ky vs Indiana next, tell me how that defines as a easy region? It isn't as if we have the mighty Yale ahead of a stroll to the sweet 16? What happens in the bottom half of our region does not mean a darn thing until we get to the elite 8 and we have to actually get to the elite 8 to benefit from what ever upsets occur in that botton half of our bracket.

The same way Kansas has to face UConn? Or Virginia has to face Butler? Providence is as bad of a 3 Pt Shooting team as we are and I'll take Brice and Paige/Berry over Dunn and Bentil.

Besides, if the NCAA committee truly WAS trying to punish us so covertly like some believe, they did a horrible job at it. If they'd switched UK and WVU's seeding, we could be in an even worse predicament. Imagine, after beating Providence, having to play Indiana or WVU, and then potentially Xavier or UK. Now we may only have to face 1 of these teams.

Of course we aren't playing Yale. We were a #1 Seed. The lowest ranked matchup we could get was the one we got. On top of that, you can't blame them for getting to play an easy seed. Blame Baylor for being unable to take care of business.

This is MARCH MADNESS! All these teams want to win! Do you think Roy and Team sit around moping about how Dook or another team got a better ranking than them? Leave that to the Caliparis of the world.

Either way, it really doesn't matter what our bracket looks like to some. We were given 2 inexperienced 2 and 3 seeds and still wanted to complain because Dook got a weaker #1 Seed. If we can shake off that shoddy first half performance from Thursday, then maybe we can talk about seedings being unfair.

As for the NCAA wanting to diss UNC. Yes, UNC has strong brand recognition and most years they would like to see UNC go far. However, there is this pending NCAA investigation. The truth it is an academic issue and not an athletic issue and the NCAA really has not jurisdiction over it. They know, UNC knows it. However, they do not want UNC to win it all with that cloud over the University. I hope UNC continues to win and says a big screw you to the NCAA!

Sorry, you are very niave if you don't think this happens. Corruption flows throughout the NCAA. Too much $ involved not to. Worse than FIFA, guaranteed.

As you stated, way too much money to believe politics isn't involved. Especially when the NCAA is autonomous, there is no one overseeing them. They have complete power. Ergo, their arbitrary, seemingly inconsistent rulings.

The last thing they want is for a program, which has been under investigation for five years now, to win the title.

And You just perpetuated it by another post. It's NCAAT time and we have to wait until almost 10pm for our game. The nervous energy has to be expended somehow. This same discussion is going on at other teams' sites. It's what fanatics do, man. You always have the option of not clicking on this thread.

Excellent counter points sir. This is all about discussion.

This has been an interesting discussion that comes down to what one defines as facts or at least what one as an individual is in belief of based on available evidence. I personally do consider what chapelhilled offered as fact that duke finished 9-8 down the stretch and flamed out on their first game of the ACCT. I do accept as fact that as Archer offers ND was a 6 seed but beat duke twice. I do accept as fact that duke's path to the sweet 16 is by beating UNCW and Yale? I do accept as fact there were 2 men with duke ties on that selection committee.

You may look at those things I take as facts and consider them circumstancial evidence and that they are actually but for me they are convincing. I would not expect the committee or members of it to admit any team received preferred treatment nor do I expect to see any slips of paper indicating this. All there is or will be is speculation based on circumstances. This is not a criminal court of law we are prosecuting this question in, this is a message board where thoughts are offerred.

This began as speculation of the questionable seeding and placement that duke got for this tourney and the seeding they tend to get most every year come NCAAT time as comparred to what happens to us pretty much every season at the same time. All the sudden & some how it became more of a bar of prosecution in criminal court where a smoking gun was required to offer grounds for belief?

And OK, if you want to consider what I and some others consider to be facts for us to be nothing more than opinion FINE & DANDY, your right to do so clearly but it is as well my right to embrace what I DO consider facts and allow them to drive MY OPINIONS.

Now maybe you consider where duke was placed to be perfectly fitting and the same for our own seeding, if you do again, FINE & DANDY FOR YOU. BUT I disagree and in part I do because no defense is offerred to counter what I do consider fact and no reasonable defense is offerred to explain what we see as the result. ALL I see is this banter of the definition of what a fact is, to me a point that means very little in this venue because we are not in criminal court where that bar is the standard. The discussion of the definition of fact was for me nothing more than distraction from the question at hand and I had no problem at all granting that my speculation was not based on the legal defination of fact because it was not nor IMO did it have to be, So agree to disagree with the poster i had the running dialog with was not a problem because while we do absolutely disagree, there never was a requirement to agree, I was trying to clarify my point, I was not needing to win a case so my client could escape the death penality.

And by the way, OJ was not convicted in criminal court because the weapon was not produced, in that case the smoking gun was a knife that could not be produced. But OJ was convicted in civil court based on the very same evidence prosecuted in criminal court that was circumstancial in one court but reached the bar of proof in the other. The bar of proof for this venue is much closer to civil court than criminal court and should be.

Well versed sir. Very enjoyable reading my good board friend!!!

I dont understand why the ncaa allowed our 2 seed to lose while dook's one seed won. How is this possible? Did the teams and officials not get the memo? Help me out conspiracist fans!! I thought we were being punished. I thought doook was gonna be given the easy path. Now they have to play ore? A ONE SEED??!!! Now we have arguably the easiest path to the final four? Wth is going on?

I'm not sure why they wouldn't want that. UNC is a brand school with a large fanbase, it doesn't hurt the NCAA to have those teams win. When it comes down to the finals, the Dukes, UNCs, Kansas's, etc. will ensure a strong viewership. As for the investigation, again, the NCAA isn't going to cook the books because they haven't completed their investigation. It sends a stronger message coming down hard (vacated titles) than suffocating a school through conspiracy.

But taking a step back, I really, really don't see how you can say UNC's bracket was uniquely hard. I posted earlier a quick breakdown of the teams and KU, who was the overall #1, got at least as hard a bracket as UNC. Is the NCAA trying to screw KU too? UK thinks they were screwed (they seem to see conspiracies everywhere), were they? Oregon got an easy draw but if you asked them if they want to see Duke I guarantee they'd say they'd rather face Maryland and Indiana over Duke.

Clearly you don't understand that the committee had to get Oregon through so as to avoid accusations. This is the coverup. But rest assured that K will be allowed to hand pick his refs for the next game.

You would know this if you were a real fan.

I believe this discussion was about duke getting favorable slotting by the NCAA, they had to beat UNCW and Yale to make the sweet 16. Slotting UNC to play our second round game at 9;40 on a saturday night, on the same channel that showed a marathon of "Friends" all day long does not strike me as catering to that "strong viewership" unless a marathon of that sitcom is a ratings bonanza I did not realize it to be at this point.

Seems to me the committee has handed us the final four on a silver platter! They eliminated our 2,3 and 4 seeds! So we had the easiest bracket ALL ALONG! My guess is a couple unc fans on the committee manipulated the seeding and officiating for us. They prob feel guilty about the ncaa over reaching on their investigations and want to make up for it.

One thing for sure. Whether we do or dont make it is ENTIRELY UP TO THE TEAM. Not the ncaa, not the refs. Just the team. This tourney has PROVEN ONCE AND FOR ALL that the ncaa truthers are FOS.

I guess you think this in some way makes you clever, makes you come off as funny, as cute in some way? It doesn't...
