Good Lord Woad, you could play that game with any dern team in the country. You think Roy can look at every kid nationwide?
I don't know how many he can look at, but he hasn't found nearly enough who can shoot.

The biggest defense I see of Roy here is that we haven't signed enough HS All-Americans. Northeastern has no star recruits - not even 1 kid that any service rated as high as 101 best in his HS class. There are plenty of good shooters and tough inside scorers and rebounders in every class who never get mentioned as top national recruits. Maybe such guys woud bring a work ethic that UNC now lacks.
I hear what you are saying Woad, but I respectfully disagree. The coach has to instill the work ethic and it has to be enforced by a top player. Although we could desperately use the sharpshooting specialist, that isn't going to be the guy who changes the mental toughness of the team one way or the other.

I know it's Texas Southern, but Arizona looks REALLY GOOD.
I think right now, they're the 2nd best team in the country.

There was very little UNC to what UAB did today... And that was really smart. If they tried to play a Roy game, they would have lost by 20. What I saw from Haase today was likeable.

Another big upset. GSU over Baylor.
And now, after just three games finished, only 1.9% of the brackets in the ESPN challenge are still correct.

Let me go on record , I don't want him as the next UNC coach ! I really want Brad Stevens as the next coach.

another team i had winning 2+ games.

by the way, a degenerate told me that at least one #13 or #14 seed has made the sweet 16 26 out of the last 30 years.

You can look at UNC's roster and tell a kid like Walker and the other 2 Pasty looking kids on Northeastern or the 2 Dunham and Barlow for Butler are not the kind of player Ole Roy will recruit despite that they could help Carolina.

It was goaltending by definition of the rule, but like Kenny Smith just said, that ball had ZERO chance of going in

Hard to believe that terrible UCLA team won and Arizona should have been a #1 seed , what 31-3 and win your regular season and tournament. For the record I don't care for Arizona but facts is facts.

Ehhhhhhhhhh. That was a VERY IFFY goaltending call.
To me, it didn't look like the ball even had a chance to hit the rim . . and hell, I've seen National Championships won on a shot like that one . . (1983).

WOW . .

I see what you are saying with Arizona but to me it does not keep them from being the team to beat. Arizona will start with a 15 seed instead of a 16 seed. Then they play a 7 or 10 seed instead of a 8 or 9 seed then they play a 14 or 6 seed rather than a 4 or 5 seed. Then they play the number 1 seed which if Arizona had been the # 1 would have made Wisc. the 2 seed and they probably play each other any way regardless of which was 1 and which was 2 !

Xavier is all over Ole Miss.

This is another exanple of why I say it is insane to have 11 seeds in a play-in game. Ole Miss is not as good a team as Xavier, but this team is flat today in part becuase he played its heart out to beat BYU on Tuesday.

The play-in gams should be the bottom 8 teams, who play to earn the four #16 seeds. BYU and Boise St should have been 12 seeds.

Yeah. After viewing it again from the under basket angle I fully understand now why the official called it goaltending. It absolutely had ZERO chance of going in but the trajectory would've put it hitting the front of the rim.

Looked like an air-ball to me . .

All in all today has been a VERY entertaining start of the tournament! And we are only about halfway through!

Not a single overtime game all day until the game immediately preceding the Carolina tip off. Sighhhhhhh

O/T would go quick enough . . these monitor reviews will slow the game down to the point we may miss our viewing the tipoff.

Knowing my luck, VCU will drain a 3 here and this game will proceed to go into quintouple overtime forcing us to miss the entire 1st half.

To call that a goaltend, you have to call 75% of alley-oops and offensive put back jams a goaltend.

Think about it.

It should never have been called a goaltend.

It was the exact same thing that Whittenburg missed and Charles flushed to beat Houston.

Yep.

That said, did anyone have flash backs to John Henson's almost goaltend at the end of the game in the NCAA Tournament? It was exactly similar to this but wasn't called.
