West Virginia is good but they're a fringe Top 15 team. Yet they're giving Gonzaga all they can handle right now.
It is! But if Oregon keeps ducking around, they're gonna lose. A few minutes back, they held Michigan scoreless for 3:45 of game time, but only stretched their lead to like 5. Missed opportunity.
This Michigan - Oregon game though.....

Weird game all around. Oregon was in complete control for most of the second half -- IMO -- but then just couldn't take a stranglehold on the game. Then those two missed front ends of the 1-and-1 could've been crippling.
but, but, but... why the hell didn't Beilien (sp?) call a time-out to set up a final play? He had one left.
Oregon had some big offensive rebounds down the stretch, the one on a missed free throw was a killer for Michigan

my guess would be because there was a stoppage after the foul...i call a timeout either way, especially at half-court.

On the flip side tho, Oregon f'ed up by leaving 2 fouls on the table. Mich should have never had an opportunity to get off a good shot.

It's just an awful game. Neither of these teams has any business being in the Sweet 16.
I agree that WVU and Gonzaga have no business being in the Sweet 16, however, I LOVE watching Press Virginia play. I've watched them probably 6-7 times this year. Sure, they hack, but they're super athletic and never get beat on a drive, so the refs usually give them the benefit of the doubt.
BTW, get used to that style of play because that's how Moo's new coach Keatts plays. He employs that Pitino / Huggins press defense with athletic guards.

Would also like to point out that before Oregon intentionally fouled, they had only been whistled for 3 fouls in the second half (oh the humanity!!!11!!!! how could that be?!!)

Dribble the ball, go nowhere, take a couple of heavily contested threes and then just let the clock run out. Brilliant offense by West Virginia.
