NFL 2017-18

Jerry Jones was praising Goodell during the deflate gate / Brady Suspension fiasco. I wonder what changed. LOL. Protect the shield, right?

not singularly he wasn’t...that’s the key

everyone that case is following this zeke case knows exactly what this is about...the nfl went light with ray rice and then josh brown, so without any witness testimony or evidence, they went to the max with zeke under article 46.

Jerry still showed support for Goodell for suspending another team's player for "allegedly" deflating footballs. Now he's pissed at Goodell for suspending HIS player for "allegedly" hitting a woman. He looks bad in all of this.

he showed support by not commenting exclusively on it...brady was suspended for destroying evidence, not deflating footballs.

zeke not only has cooperated with the investigation, he’s done exactly the opposite of roger and appeared at all the hearings and provided testimony.

the only similarity in these cases is they can apply a certain part of a rule in a handbook that the nflpa agreed to in the last cba because they didn’t want the court system to be involved in other cases; drugs, ped’s, etc.

Destroying evidence vs. Domestic Violence. If you asked me which act deserves a suspension even without full evidence, I would say the latter.

There was an extensive investigation done by the league office. The investigator said she didn't think he should be suspended.

I understand that. But Goodell has extreme power under the CBA that the players and owners both agreed to suspend players for misconduct. He did it Brady and now he did it Elliot using the same CBA. My point is that Jones was fine with Brady's suspension and is mad at Elliot's, because it's his guy. He comes off as a whiny hypocrite.

nobody is arguing the weight of each offense...you’re either not paying attention to this case or you’re watching espn talk about it with stephen a smith.

no offense, but if you are personally accused of domestic violence and you didn’t commit domestic violence, i hope you’re not willing to live with that tag the rest of your life...and i’m not even talking about irreparable harm monetarily...and btw, that is also at the heart of this matter when you talk about a career span in the nfl.

and one of the investigators in this case wasn’t even allowed to introduce her evidence in the hearing...that alone is reason enough to fight on.

First off, I am paying attention to this case. And I do agree with you about the ramifications of being accused of domestic violence and being innocent. I think whether Elliot actually did this or not is still left to be determined.

My point is that Goodell was able to suspend Elliot due to power given to him in the current CBA. If either players or owners have a problem with that power, they have only themselves to blame for it. They were the ones who agreed to it.

and my point is that domestic violence was not under the current cba when the current cba was drafted and agreed upon...again, see ray rice, josh brown, greg hardy.

and if you’re not guilty of domestic violence, then you most certainly should appeal and see it to the end...conduct detrimental is the issue...i’m not doing the research for you, but it’s out there.

Exactly. I think that Zeke is getting a raw deal because the people who get paid to determine these things (the police) didn't charge him with anything. But with that said, I have no sympathy for Jerry Jones in the whole thing because of how adamantly he defended the Brady witch hunt and suspension, when there was similar shoddy evidence.

I wish there was a way that Zeke could have his suspension thrown out, but have Jones still have his RB suspended - because that's what they both deserve. Unfortunately they're the same person.

i don’t recall jerry on an island defending the league and how they handled the brady investigation...in fact, i recall him not publicly commenting on it specifically because he knows exactly what might happen.

now, he might have said the league has the right to fully investigate, just like every owner would for zeke, but i don’t recall him “adamantly” defending the league vs brady.

five years ago the cowboys and redskins were both charged millions of dollars against the salary cap because they operated under a time when supposedly the league was closed...in an interview he said; “sometimes you have to take one for the team”...do you think he was acting on behalf of owners or the league then?

From what I remember he was the most vocal following the Brady decision essentially saying that Roger and the league have tough decisions to make but that they do a great job at fairness. Whether or not he was right (I'd argue he was wrong, the league is anything but fair) - it's a different tune he's singing now.

Jerry.... He looks bad in all of this.

To be honest, he looks pretty bad all the time these days...

BTW, I've been beating the "let Cam run more" drum for two seasons.

Guess why the Panthers are winning again now? Guess why they beat the Falcons? I should be compensated by Jerry Richardson.

Not sure if it's sustainable, but they basically have little choice at this point. JStew is a shell of his former self; McCaffery isn't big enough to run between the tackles.

Figures the suspension had to happen now, terrible for the two fantasy teams that I have him on - with bye weeks and whatnot. Doesn't look like he'll be back until the fantasy championship - thanks for costing me some coin, Goodell you ****ing moron.

The only good thing that could come out of this is if Robert Kraft tells Jerry to shove it up his ass and ask him how it tastes to be dicked over by Goodell and then mocked about it by other owners.

just hold up on the “lawsuit” talk.

let’s see the headlines tomorrow first...i have a suspicion about this.
