Official UNC vs Indiana Thread

Just bumping this article noting "The Kenny Williams Effect"

When Britt is starting, that lineup is +16.2 efficiency margin
When Williams is starting, that lineup is +74.9 efficiency margin

We're substantially better offensively AND defensively with Williams on the floor compared to Britt.

Small sample size (relatively speaking) though.

Indiana to this point looks a little quicker and they can hit their free throws. Just incredible how many points UNC left at the charity stripe or this game would be much closer.

IU has played the best half of basketball they could possibly play and we have played the worst half we could possibly play and we are only down 12 we are lucky very lucky!

We are terrible in their building. When I saw it was in Assembly Hall, I marked it down as an L. Especially since Indy lost to that cupcake. Then, they honored the 1981 team tonight, too???

Not tonight, folks.

Yeah, we can start Williams, but, that won't help the rest of the team shoot better from the field (10/28 35.7%) or help us make more FTs(5/11 45.5%).

All things considered, not terrible... Bagel from Hicks and Berry a non factor and we're going to have halves like this.

Let's see if we play our A game in the 2nd half.

It probably doesn't change anything tonight (or change much)... But the numbers and the eye test say Williams should be the starter regularly. And it's a legitimate question why Britt was starting tonight.

We've played terrible and are within 12. Not bad honestly. Color me encouraged. Hard to imagine that we'll shoot as poorly from the FT line in the second and I also expect us to rebound better in the second half. We might be too far down to win but I expect us to make this a close game.

I prefer Kenny starting as well. I really like this line up:

Berry
Williams
Jackson
Hicks
Bradley

Were okay. Need to fight for these boards however. Would be useful for KW to hit some 3s. JJ can't disappear, he has to just keep shooting.

We got this game. We should be down 20.

T Bradley is legit, and I know its early in the season, but who envisioned us getting basically zero from 7th and B Rob? Sucks because it puts so much more weight on Berry to be out there all the time. How can d1 college recruits playing at shooting positions barely draw iron on multiple free throws? There are thousands of kids not even in d1 college who can shoot better. Frustrating. Woods stroke at the line looks about as broken and scary as anyone I can remember. A wonder he even draws iron.

This game isn't over. UNC is having success in the paint. We are having issues trying to defend 1v1 on the block. On the flipside, IU isn't shooting the 3 very well at all. 4-12. They may heat up in the 2nd half. Idk. I bet it ends up a close game.

We need to lock down better on perimeter D. And get Hicks going inside. Play inside out, kickouts for open 3s for JJ and JB.

I must say I've adopted the Roy philosophy that these games don't matter. Conference games matter a little more, but then the tournament games are what you're playing for.
