I remember listening on the radio
Same here. I always schedule around UNC football games so I can watch or listen. But on that particular October night, I had just bought a new Acura and got stuck finishing paperwork at the dealership. Had to listen to the game on the radio on my way home. When Woody made the call of the goal-line stop, I damn near drove my new car into a ditch. LOL.

Woody was one of those radio announcers that you loved to hear, all the time.

What most interests me is that Woody became the Voice of the Tar Heels right after Dooley got the football program rolling. So those who of us who go back a spell associate him with the great Dean hoops teams and the Dooley teams and early Crum years.

Woody calling some of the runs made by the great UNC RBs, which included stressing more than a few All-American/All-ACC caliber level blocks, can never be topped.
