nctransplant got me thinking about Nebraska beef a couple of weeks ago and then a friend was talking about this ranch Monday morning.

So, I ordered some grass-fed beef from Nebraska. Arrives today. Very excited.

Don't think I could go the grass fed route. My rancher buddy here feeds his out on corn and distillers grains. My goodness they are good.

If you can find a rancher, beef is extremely cheap right now. Out here they are charging $1.80 hanging weight(usually around 380lbs.) and $.60/lb processing.

We know the Baldwin family well, my in-laws farm is 5 minutes from the Baldwin farm in Caswell County. Their stuff is good but way overpriced, IMO. And for those of you who care, they use the Muslim 'halal' beef processing method.

A completely unnecessary choice, but hey, if you want to eat nothing but lettuce, then be my guest. Hell, I'm sure of you research it enough, you can find something wrong with that too.
