OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Ya, great. Except anyone that has even a moderate amount invested in the market index funds would have seen losses in excess of that measly $2000 if those huge companies are taking a collective $400B hit to their bottom lines (which their valuations are based on).

Also all the people in those companies that would have been laid off as a result of cost cutting measures to try to make up some portion of that $400B would almost certainly prefer their salaries to a measly $2000.
I said "gimme the heads-up stocks-wise".

But seriously, you can't just cease taxing corporations for the sake of personal investments. There has to be a balance and 400B could go a long way toward _____ to make life better for all americans, not just those overweight in energy sector.

Lol. Says the brainwashed sheep.

I noticed a few weeks ago when you came out with your hot take that the Dems would hold both houses and I offered a bet, you never responded. Maybe you aren’t as dumb as everyone believes you to be and you just poast the way you do here to troll. I don’t think even you believe some of the inane shit you poast. Either that or you’re just too pussy. Both are totally believable.

I probably ignored you cuz you suck.

If you can get @UNC71-00 in on the action, I'd bet. Give him a chance to win some money back.

Very fishy. At least the British press is willing to go there.

"
  • 'Everybody in the neighborhood had alarms on our windows,' the former neighbor said. 'So if glass smashed, an alarm went off'

    ....

'There were black cars outside that house, particularly up on Normandie Terrace, all of the time,' the 66-year-old, who lived opposite the Pelosis for a decade, told DailyMail.com.

'I don't distinguish between her being there and not being there. There were always multiple cars.'

I bet Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were there too. There's no evidence to show that they weren't there.

You don't think it sounds fishy? No security? Nor a security system? Right?

And bet you believe Epstein killed himself and it's a coincidence the camera was turned off.

I think anything can sound fishy if you need it to, and you do. You are so far gone, you have to spin yarn after yarn, instead of what actually happened. Everything that happens must be some strategic Black ops move to make the maga cult look like a bunch of dangerous idiots doing a bunch of dangerous idiot shit. Meanwhile that's what they've been doing for years, right out in the open all the time.

And then you throw that red herring in there about 'don't you think Jeffrey Epstein killed himself?' What the hell's that got to do with this? They're two totally different situations.

this should lead off every discussion on our ridiculous obsession with slavery and its dwindling effects on our society. I've pointed out all these same things in discussions with our lead virtue-signaler, only to be met with scorn and derision. The virtue-signalers are keeping racism alive. Some of us realize that that is because they NEED to keep racism alive because virtue-signaling is mostly what gives them a sense of purpose.

the bigger question to me is, where was the security? Security seems to be strangely absent in certain events. The article mentions Epstein, and I can't believe that those charged with guarding him would take a nap while that extremely high-profile subject who had previously attempted suicide was hanging himself.
Jan6 anyone?
justice Clarence Thomas (maybe greatest scotus judge of all time) and the other originalist judges are raining down fire on affirmative action for college admissions -‘at Harvard… and UNC

Overturning affirmative action will be big win for racial equality and Justice and meritocracy
Like unions, it was a good idea at one time. It is now counterproductive like unions today.

I think unions are the right of people to form naturally and legally, as long as the companies that they work with are allowed to deal with them in a natural, legal manner. They aren't right or wrong, they just are. The problem comes when government sticks its nose in and tries to give unions an advantage, just as Biden is blatantly strong-arming unions into advantaged positions now. As much as anything else, this is why I wouldn't mind seeing him fall down the stairs to AF One and cracking his head open. Political expediency is all he knows and all he practices.

I'm actually beginning to think that the space cadet Kamala Harris isn't so bad after all.

It’s just about the only conservative SCOTUS position I agree with. Otherwise, Clarence can eat a dick.

Not super clear but I think I get what you're saying.

But this one needs explanation.

1 - Who is laughing and dancing?
2 - Why are they laughing and dancing?

If you're not familiar with the term "whistling past the graveyard", I'll explain it to you. When someone is scared or nervous about something, they will often attempt to downplay their fright and act as if they are confident and unafraid. Maybe you were confused by the colloquialism I used.
Not confused at all. As opposed to whistling nervously over the proposition of your loving god burning me alive for eternity I’m dancing and singing with confidence that Im enjoying life to the fullest without the legalism, hypocrisy, and guilt of religion.

Weird. I can do both - enjoy life but also recognize a higher power. But I get it. Not many people are as gifted as I am.

Good luck in your death.

According to your religion it’s a hell of lot more than just “recognizing.” You don’t strike me as someone that lives your alleged faith. You certainly don’t reflect it in here. But maybe your gift is being comfortable saying one thing and doing another.

Ok, so you do believe the official story on Epstein?

Thought so. Probably believed the Russian collusion hoax and Hunter's laptop was real. Pretty much whatever the Narrative is, right?

Actually that's about all there is to it. I mean, you have to try your best to be a decent human, but religion doesn't require much more. Now, what the church requires is a different story. But the church isn't required to be part of a religion. At least not in it's current form.

This is fundamentally true.

But it’s also true that without that structure and recruiting of the church, temple, mosque, or whatever, that a religion couldn’t function or have followers.

Without people committed to the dogma and the rules, you can’t have organized religion. And more often that not, the rules of organized religion are counterintuitive.

" " While much of the focus for January 6 “insurrection” skeptics has been on Ray Epps, there’s another mystery man who is arguably more interesting. The “Scaffold Commander” has clear images of him. There are videos of him coordinating mostly peaceful protesters to enter the Capitol Building. Yet he has never been identified nor has he been arrested, prompting many to assume he was part of the con from the beginning."

"Organized religion," in the structure that you describe, isn't true religion to me. You can be religious and even get together in a group and still function. I seriously doubt God/Jesus is happy with how organized religion functions in today's world.

I know what you meant so I FIFY. And yes, you can bet your bottom dollar that Strum did believe both of those things. He may believe them yet.

Thanks for clarifying.

In reading this thread, I've been thoroughly convinced that the orangeman invented the idea of stealing an election and he is the sole reason for the problems that exist today. But then I consulted social media news and saw this from a few days ago. I'm so confused.

At 26 seconds in: "Right wing extremists already have a plan to literally STEAL THE NEXT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. And, they're not making a secret of it"

hey @carolinablue34, Hillary here is pretty much implicating the conservative members of the SCOTUS in some phantom conspiracy to steal the forthcoming elections. She all but calls our duly appointed justices 'extremists', in the most insidious manner possible. And that's just for starters. She's claiming that a plan is either in place or is being put in place to steal the upcoming elections through judicial rulings based on the Constitution that would put the power to control electoral votes more firmly in the hands of the States, just as the dems boo hoo'ed for after Trump was elected.

What she's doing is planting a seed in the 'minds' of the mindless that a coup is taking place. Can you explain how qualitatively what she is doing is any less a threat to democracy than what Trump has done? How it's any less against our democratic ideals?

Don't bother with overall scale, I'm talking sameness. There's plenty of time for that trash to be scaled up.

So what say you?
Hey @carolinablue34, I guess you had a hard time finding this (post#42,504) after I repeatedly asked you to respond, so I'm bringing it to you.

If you don't address this this time, I might begin to think you just don't want to. But I think you should want to, because it's a great chance to clarify once and for all whether you are a hypocrite, if I may be blunt. Don't harbor any preconceived notions about my reaction to your response....if you have an answer that doesn't deserve derision and scorn, none will be forthcoming.

Telling people to do and not do things off little empirical evidence for the being they believe in? That they’ll burn or go to paradise if they don’t fit the right criteria?

That sounds very counterintuitive to me.

I’m perfectly comfortable with my faith. I don’t need anyone else to validate it or to instruct me on how to live it. I’ve read as much of the Bible as I think necessary. I go to church when I want and don’t when I don’t want to. I take the Christian teachings and read into them what I believe the message is telling me. If I’m wrong, I’ll be held to account when the time comes. Until then, I’ll believe that St. Peter is planning on rolling out the red carpet for me when I get there. What you, the Pope or anyone else thinks of it is completely irrelevant to me.

He flagged false information. You have an issue with that? I guess you're just xenophobic. First orangeman, now the South African......

And I’m sure if he flagged a conservative politician for false info you’d be singing his praises.

Elon plays footsies with people like Putin. He’s all about Elon.

Say what?! I find it hard to believe that you enjoy life AND subscribe to a religion, poopslinger, as angry as you are. Always wishing death on others while masking your own unhappiness. And I doubt things have gotten any better since your old lady left you and took the kids.

Even being a dyed-in-the-wool MAGAtard probably doesn't make you happy anymore. It just reenforces your ignorance.
