Secondly, our economy is very fluid. That there are strata of income and wealth is indicative of a healthy economy, not a sick one. People move into and out of levels of wealth and 'poverty', and that's the beauty of it...we are all given an opportunity to advance ourselves, and the wealth at the top is subject to routine changing of hands. To talk about the 'top ten percent', for example, is not necessarily to talk about the same persons.
If people were locked into poverty with no avenue for escape, that would be wrong and regrettable. If people stay in poverty because they don't take advantage of those avenues, that would be regrettable as well, but not wrong....there will always be a bottom and a top and we all have the opportunity to move up and not down....but down will happen in any case. You think communism solves that? It does, if you're happy that the only level of wealth is poor.
The trick is to strive for a higher level instead of whining that you aren't in one. It can be done. Not saying it's easy, but who but the entitled demand 'easy'.
