OOTB's Political Thread . ..

After moving to Minnesota about a decade ago, Boelter volunteered for a position on a state workforce development board, first appointed by then-Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, in 2016, and later by Democratic Gov. Tim Walz. He served through 2023.

From another article

The workforce board has about 60 members, many of whom are not politically connected or would have meaningful access to the governor or interactions with him. The workforce board is tasked with recommending policies to Walz and the Legislature.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people apply to serve on these state boards, task forces, advisory councils and commissions each year. There are more than 130 in total, including high-paying jobs on powerful councils, but they mainly are volunteer positions.

Back to him being a typical evangelical right wing nutjob...

“The churches are so messed up, they don’t know abortion is wrong in many churches,” he said, according to an online recording of one sermon from February 2023. Still, in three lengthy sermons reviewed by the AP, he only mentioned abortion once, focusing more on his love of God and what he saw as the moral decay in his native country.

He appears to have hidden his more strident beliefs from his friends back home.
“He never talked to me about abortion,” Schroeder said. “It seemed to be just that he was a conservative Republican who naturally followed Trump.”

On the subject of his hit list...

The list also included the names of abortion rights advocates and health care officials, according to two law enforcement officials who could not discuss details of the ongoing investigation and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.

But sure... the lunatic evangelical minister who had abortion rights advocates on his hit list was actually a democrat. Seems totally plausible... If you ignore every single account from anyone who knew him and every single fact that has emerged from the investigation.

Just goes to show how easy it is to manipulate a low IQ dipshit like the one we have here.
I really don't know what happened here and what the guy truly thought or believed. First there was a manifesto, then there wasn't. Seems like an evolving narrative and attempt to manipulate things to fit whatever one's agenda might be.

The one thing I won't do, however, is blindly accept anything from sources like the AP, particularly when they allegedly speak to them "on condition of anonymity." In all seriousness, when the "press" cites such authority, whether it's the NYT or Fox, how do any of us have ANY assurance of actual truth or veracity? They could simply have made it up or been told it by their buddy over a couple of beers. If the last four years taught us anything it should be that the press, particularly the traditional msm, has more holes than a screendoor. Argue about it all you want, but take a quick spin through your hypocrite's book. Talking about your boy Jake Tapper. It's a challenge to figure out the truth about anything.

I heard on the news today that our rightwing killer Boelter says he met Jesus when he was 17 and met the Holy Spirit 4 months later.

I think we can safely assume he was on a mission from God and the people he killed, wounded, and planned to kill were/are all minions of Satan.

I have made it clear and repeated here many times that I simply don't know what happened in 2020 other than Trump lost and Biden became our president. I also can't say for certain one way or the other whether the shenanigans that took place actually carried the day for Biden or were just incidental to the actual result. But shenanigans there were. I also wonder if those who were thrilled about the result at the time now regret things in light of what happened four years later - would it not have been better to get it over with, particularly with some of the bumbling idiots Trump had in place at the time versus coming back with an entirely new mindset and a populace supportive of what he's doing? Regardless of that and the source of the following, here is one such shenanigan that should be of concern to everyone:

So now you guys are discussing how a king would be better if it’s the right person.

But we aren't - not really. It's all a fantasy because: A) you never get the correct person in the first place, and; B) you never get that person in the second/third/fourth/etc. place. It's much like the theories of communism and socialism. They are great on a blackboard, but never work in reality because people are people.

It's a much better discussion than yet another hoax created by the American left (instead of actually coming up with common sense policies that reflect reality and individuals who represent such positions). No Kings' Day - what a joke. We had that celebration and protest one time - way back in 1776. If you guys think Trump's a king, you need to do a better job of learning history and what that actually means. Of course, I won't expect the union controlled schools to help.

Nobody thinks Trump is a king. We just all recognize that his egregious narcissism and endless attempts at executive overreach make it clear that he wants to be one. Especially when paired with the fact that he is surrounded by political operatives that are pushing unitary executive bullshit and openly talking about looking for loopholes for him to circumvent term limits.

Pair that with an obsessive base that will defend anything he does and deflect any criticism of him and it’s pretty clear that there’s plenty to be protesting about. The man is a f*cking joke and you guys are completely blind to it. Which is why this thread and any other discussion with maga fanatics is a complete waste of time. You guys live in an alternate reality where any criticism of trump is deranged and everything you disagree with is fake news.

This is true. Having a qualified person in charge who truly has the interests of his or her kingdom at heart and implements policy accordingly is the preferred scenario. The problem is that they are rarely truly capable and they almost never set aside their own interests for that of the populace, particularly from a longer point of view. And, even if in the incredibly unlikely event that the desired type of person becomes king or queen, there's the problem that the next person who occupies that seat is selected merely by blood and birthright. I mean, in my mind, Michael is the best that's ever been, and while his son may be a heck of a guy, he was hardly qualified to be designated the best player in the world simply due to being MJ's kid. Kings and queens are no different, so we have our constitutional republic which helps to limit the mistakes in that random selection process.

And that's the part about all of this that is so frustrating. The lemmings just accept the next hoax, repeat it ad nauseum with the complicit msm. There is no king. There is no dictator. We still have a constitutional republic. Orange hasn't declared martial law or any other maneuver to suspend the normal process of anything. In fact, these idiots are simply mad that he is daring to actually enforce the law and not just going along with the plan to import millions of additional future D voters. They are still fighting the same fight they lost last November in convincing fashion and this is just the latest made-up narrative about their boogieman.

One of the biggest flaws in our actual setup though is the goal of winning the next election. It has morphed into this being the primary goal and the goal that even overrides all others. It's at most four years apart and more likely two - not what one would describe as a long term strategy or plan. It's what results in President Autopen. Which brings us to the most ironic part of the current panty twisting. The party who simply rigged the last election without a single vote being cast for their nominee (the direct opposite of a constitutional republic or even a democratic process) pushes the next hoax that the duly elected president is a king or dictator. It's just sad.
just to clarify, in response to your excellent post.... I was NOT suggesting that we should institute a dictator/king-acquisition/succession system, or anything other than what we have in place. Rather, I was defending and not dismissing out of hand the idea of there being a king or dictator as opposed to electing some power-hungry and career-minded, unqualified nincompoop who sees the people as being there to serve him rather than the other way around. I was merely pointing out that given the comparison between the two ways of being led, one shouldn't take the 'woo boy look at us, we're a by God democracy' dogma to heart and dismiss in knee jerk fashion the notion of having a benevolent dictator or strong king as antithetical to our democratically expressed wants and needs.

I really, really wanted Ross Perot as president. That's because I believe our country, and I guess ANY country, should be run like a business and not a frigging turkey shoot. Identify goals, formulate a plan for achieving same, and execute it effectively and efficiently, and prosper. People bitch cluelessly about the CEO of Acme Widget making two zil a year with incentives galore on top of that. There's a reason a company invests so heavily in a good CEO. That's because he's worth it in terms of bringing about the things you would have a business for to begin with. A company recruits a CEO like UNC recruited Drake Maye, pilfered him away from the team he was already committed to, the undisputed big dog of college football. That's the way to on-field success. Wonder what kind of NIL deal Drake might get today. YIKES! And he would be worth it to whoever offered the most beads and shells, no matter how insane.

So all I'm saying is, get yourself the best man for the job and that ain't necessarily by voting for someone without a proven track record or sky high potential. Get yourself that dick tater or king if you really want the best leader, and be prepared for the consequences of a poor choice. You know, just like we do with our current system, but with less likelihood of gaining a turkey. In theory, not necessarily in actual practice.

I do use Trump brand condoms though, size Donald. The only brand and size big enough to fit my big fat magadick. Pictures available. $120 per pose. WIDE selection for as LONG as they last.

I don't know why exactly, but your negative obsession reminds me of those who feel compelled to denigrate Wendy's chili (which I really like) by pointing out that they use cooked but unsold burger in it. Well damn. Now when I make chili at home, I first grill way more hamburgers than I can eat just so I can toss the leftovers into the chili. Yum.

What I'm saying is, I have to chuckle at you thinking you can change anyone's mind about Trump by pointing out that Trump sells shit that you can freely choose to buy or not buy. All you probably did was alert people that Trump pants might soon be available. I might have to get a pair if the crotch is as roomy as I bet it will be. did you think that this attempted but failed clarification served any real purpose? Your opinion about him wanting to be king is just as ludicrous as the suggestion that anyone actually thinks that Trump really is a king.

What would serve better would be for you and your nearly insane pod of clowns to admit that you're suffering from incurable TDS. Trump, like most politicians and powerful men, has a supersize ego. What a surprise. And given the tasks he wants to accomplish, he seeks the power and leverage required to accomplish them. Another stunning revelation.

It's as obvious as obvious can be that some support Trump and some oppose Trump. Those who oppose him often stupidly try to paint him as a wannabe king. Those who support him laugh at those efforts as being the silly product of deeply deranged, obsessive minds. Not much to see here.

Term limits are antidemocratic. People should have the right to vote for whichever oligarch their preferred corporate media tells them to support.

isn't that the problem though? So many keep voting almost by rote for the antidemocratic democrat candidate that the chosen corporate media tells them to. If we introduce a little turnover, who knows? There might be an actual PROdemocracy democrat out there somewhere.

ETA. On the other hand, we were are lucky that Fetterman was salvaged. He's the exception to the rule I hope for, a democrat who seems to have his head screwed on right (in spite of previous indications to the contrary). Independent in his thinking and admirably bold in his willingness to break the pattern and go against that democrat grain and liberal media bias. I take back all that negative stuff you said about him.

I see it as a play on the idea of what addicts do and that the Donkeys are addicted to Hate. It's what they shoot up with and like all severe addicts, it's to the exclusion of everything else. All one is worried about is the next hit and high from their dose of Hate. The irony, of course, is that's the total opposite of what they claim in being one big tent with tolerance for all regardless of the issue.

obviously, you are no idiot. Case in point, I purposely made this hard and you almost got it anyway.

'I'm glad you are a good sport' is what it's supposed to stand for. Just to clarify, it doesn't refer to the killing and maiming of wildlife that you enjoy indulging in. It refers to me calling you (or at least agreeing with you) an idiot in an offhand sort of way.

It's just the way I grew up, to the extent that I did. The more agreeable you are with someone, the more you get along, the more you tend to F with them, and as offensively as possible, albeit jokingly and good-naturedly. You are of course expected to understand..... unless you're an idiot, that is. I think we have established your standing in that regard. You really are an idiot.

Well, as a general rule, I find that many people these days need to develop a thicker skin about things. There's nothing wrong with ribbing someone or giving them grief about something. I am so tempted to launch into a novel of agreement with this, but I don't want to detract from the extremely sound points you have expressed. Instead of encouraging people to be offended by any words that aren't downright praise, advise them to just get over it and let mean words reflect on the speaker instead of the spoken to. This is one of if not the biggest faults I find with crazy libthink. Don't spend half your life saying, for example, that it's just as good to have dark skin as light skin, and then spend the other half going crazy when someone is pointed out as having dark skin instead of light. Is it just as good or is it not? Because your stupid, unfounded overreaction only serves to confirm the opposed notion that it must not be as good to have dark skin. Geezus, get a frigging clue. If you think all people are equally worthwhile, don't let your wayward thought processes contradict that notion.

Just don't worry about what others say, it reflects more on them than you. Just get over it before it's even had a chance to offend you. *LAUGH at the differences we have, real or imagined.* *AND LAUGH AT YOURSELF.*

eta....*and THEN people will start seeing you as being just as good and worthwhile as anybody, and better than most. This is actually true.

Instead of lamely and ineffectively trying to legislate bigotry and inequality out of existence, allow society to do it and the results will be just as good as hoped for.

To tell people that they are as good as anyone else but then to overreact when someone indicates otherwise, only lends credence to the 'otherwise' because it's almost like saying, 'well maybe you are NOT really as good as anyone else and you should be offended by someone pointing that out'. Makes me crazy to see liberals do this because they are so caught up in being heroes to the less fortunate and less well-thought of that they counteract their own efforts with such mindlessness.

Often, the debate of illegal immigration is framed upon a discussion of things like the burden on our system, taxes, cultural assimilation, etc. And, of course, there is the very real intention that the party with a D wants either for illegals to suddenly be made citizens or simply extend the ability to vote to non-citizens. That's already happening in local elections across the country in cities/counties that are D dominated. There is, however, an already occurring issue that many are not even aware of or have no concept about. Illegal or not, they are counted in the census which then translates to all kinds benefit allocations and even things like the number of congress members. Yes, the flooding of illegals who are not American citizens can influence the power any given state has in DC. This post puts it into perspective (I can't vouch for the specifics, but the principle is sound). Ignore the initial idiot asking the question, it's the reply that's important (I don't know how to post it here without the initial tweet coming up).

Demoncrats say they will pass a law making ICE agents show their faces in public if they steal back Congress and the WH.

So what about DEA agents on drug raids? What about police gang units arresting gang bangers?

What about blm and antifa scum wearing masks during riots that kill people? Strange how demoncrats support criminals wearing masks, but hate law enforcement wearing masks ENFORCING Federal laws.

Sec Noem should make the names of ICE agents Confidential or Secret to ensure any Demoncrat exposing their names is arrested for leaking classified information.
