There's no way to post a poll in the political thread, so please put your overtly political comments there.

I'm just curious whether folks here generally like the idea or not - not whether they approve or disapprove of how Trump is handling it.

If Canada became a state or states within the US, how about something like the homesteader laws of the 19th century that gave Americans a chance to get free or cheap land and build a new life - while at the same time spreading civilization to remote areas.

[AI generated] The primary 19th-century homestead law was the Homestead Act of 1862, which granted 160 acres of public land to any citizen who would live on and cultivate it for five years, leading to westward expansion and land ownership for many.

As if the posting of your poll and how you've framed things/commented wasn't overtly political?

How about doing a poll that asks the question of whether or not you're an idiot if you think Trump is actually serious about making Canada a part of the United States or whether all of it is rhetoric with other purposes in mind?

I'm gonna just chalk this one up as an April Fool's. Great timing.

no you're wrong. Just ask @uncboy10. He is going to forcibly annex Canada. A tank is already headed to the border along with Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock. It's gonna be a bloodbath but it should go pretty quickly.

Dibs on British Columbia.

Where is the answer that says, “if the Canadian people were allowed to vote on it and indicated a preference to join the US, we’d at least discuss it”?

Because I’d chose that one.

Other poll answers I’d consider are as follows:

- No, not all of it because a good majority is worthless.

- No, because it’s just more people expecting shit they didn’t work for.

- No, because hockey is a niche sport.

- Yes, but only the syrup making part.

- Yes, I feel bad for their citizens having to endure that cold.

- Yes, to eliminate all their geese from coming south and shitting all over our pristine golf courses.

Absolutely non-political - even without the disclaimer.

Point out otherwise, if you can.

And, while you're at it, vote in the poll.
not that I'm his spokesman but it's pretty plain that it was the posting of the poll that was political. He said so and you know so. But play your little lib games, it's expected.

exception...hockey might be the best sport there is, and Canadians used to rule. We might think of Canadians as wussies but I assure you that that's a rule with a lot of exceptions.

I grew up a die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan even when I wasn't much more than a toddler. And the Red Wings always seemed to come in second best. At that time there were only six teams total in the league. When we moved here the league expanded but the notion of a hockey team in NC was ludicrous. But here come the Hurricanes and I became a hockey fan again. And WTF, a Stanley Cup in Raleigh, NC? I had to move to NC to see my team win the Stanley Cup? In freaking Raleigh NC? How do you not love that? Unless you're some commie soccer fan.

I'd prefer an option of them becoming a US territory (like Guam, or what could be done with Greenland).... access to natural resources, defense positions, etc.....

without more leftist freeloaders, and US senators and citizen voters who have socialist mindsets and voting tendencies.
