Doesn't matter if said views are liberal or conservative. It's a simple (yes I am / no I'm not) okay with UNC coaches publicly discussing politics.

Only those who vote can view results.

If this is in regards to Roy's comments about trumps tweeting, then he didn't really talk politics. He simply made a true statement.
It's a simple yes/no. To me, discussing anything about the president or laws or policy is talking politics / political views.

Vote according to your beliefs/opinion.

Fair enough. We all know Roy is a liberal guy, so he did take a subtle jab at trump. I just didn't take it as much of a political statement. It will be interesting to see if trump responds to it in some way, as he seems to do that to everyone that takes the slightest dig at him.

I voted yes.

You asked if I'm ok with it, I am - as I think they should be allowed to discuss politics if they want. I'd prefer they not do it too often, and to focus more on the sport they're involved with. If I think what they say is stupid I'll be sure to call them out on it though, and they absolutely should be fair game for that from the fans and media if they want to step into the political arena.

I respect that opinion.

** Please note y'all that the key word in the poll is publicly discussing. I.E., I'm not talking about them talking politics to a small group away from the limelight. I mean like, publicly. In press conferences and such **

I don't have a problem with what Roy said today, so I'll vote yes it's ok by me. Along the lines of what Hark said, if he takes it to some ridiculous extreme then he deserves the backlash that he'll get.

Yes. I don't care if someone agrees or disagrees but it is pretty silly to me to think it isn't ok for public people to express their opinions. I think constantly making everything about your political beliefs would be too far but that isn't happening with any UNC coach.

I don't care what Roy has to say about politics...I mean T-Rump does tweet out more BS then anyone...at least he didn't try to literally ruin our Country like the dickens...like the previous POTUS!!!! His right!

I would take a college coach's comments with a grain of salt anyway. Call it what it is, most of the players being recruited likely have liberal views. Kind of like this old saying:

'If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain.'

That said...when I hear Mark Cuban or Greg Pop. discuss it the way they do, I cringe at their efforts. They can GFT.

Wow, you just took "lick me where I fart" to a whole new disgusting level.
I'm offended anyone would short bus the greatest quote of 2016. Is nothing sacred?

As far as coaches discussing politics, I have no problem with Roy saying something in passing like what happened today. I do have a problem with Greg Popovich doing an impromptu two-minute dissertation on how much he hates Trump. Totally uncalled for.

Speaking of which, this is one of the things I have come to love about Larry Fedora. He's Texas born and raised, so I can only assume he's a conservative. You would never know. I don't think he's ever given the slightest hint of his politics, which is kinda cool. Despite our disagreements with him on the field, Larry is a decent guy and an underrated CEO of our football program IMO.

Would "like" this poast 100 times if possible.

This would be a 5 star post if it didn't include the words greatest quote.

There are two things I hope for from Roy and this year's team:

1 - Winning the National Championship
2 - Declining the invitation to the White House afterwards

Ordinarily I would agree but drastic times call for drastic measures.
Drastic measures? Trump going to change his policies because a sports team didn't go to the white house? He'd probably be happy about it. It would give him more time to tweet.

I don't have an issue with what Roy said, per se. However I would like to point out how much of a fraud he is saying his dadgums, frickins, dickens, and all that aww sucks garbage then he drops a "bullshit" in passing when discussing something not even basketball related.

I have an intense love/hate with Roy for sure. Would love to hang out with him, but some of the stuff he does and says really grinds my gears.
