Not gonna go back and quote it directly because I'm too lazy, but @Hark_The_Sound_2010 I disagree that Roy sounds like a "clown" by saying dagummit a lot. That's just how some Southerners talk (especially rural Southerners from poverty, which is what Roy is).

People said the same thing about Bobby Bowden. The "people" who said those things and mocked him -- playfully or not -- for saying "shucks" and "daggumit" are either just haters or they're northerners who don't realize that's how folks talk.

But not everyone would agree with that. Wolpfack fans think Roy is an uneducated hillbilly, the irony of which makes me chuckle.

Northerners are aware that's how rural southerners talk. But just like you think various things yankees do/say makes them look/sound stupid, listening to a slew of dadgummits gives me (and probably a lot of others) the same impression.

That was a Radar quote, I did make it confusing by saying "we have[.]"
It wasn't the "we have" part that threw me. It's the fact that here at OOTB I see the same kind of name-calling and "if you don't agree with me" bullshit, only it's from the other side, see.

We're all guilty of it. It was a rhetorical question.

I won't argue with that. Like I alluded to with my Wolpfack fan reference, Southerners judge other Southerners just like Northerners judge Southerners. Folks who are helplessly redneck will look at someone else and be like "he is such white trash." Lol.

I don't think it's hypocritical or fraudulent of Roy at all when he occasionally drops an F bomb or shit, bullshit, etc. IMO, it's because it MEANS something more to him so he uses stronger language for emphasis. And it works; we don't have a coach that constantly drops F bombs to the point where it's expected and it loses its value ... daggummit.

Likewise, I try not to use excessive foul language at work, around my kids, etc but when having a few cold pepsis with friends or poasting on OOTB, my filter is scaled way back.

As long as they are winning ball games I couldn't care less what damn fool things they spout off about regarding their politics. When they start screwing up on the court and the field, while spouting off stupid shit about their lame brain political views, then STFB for a severe blast of shit. If they're doing that crap, they obviously don't have their heads in the game, to use coach speak on politically-oriented,lame-brained coaches.

I love Roy he is our guy I wouldn't want anyone else, but that stage isn't the time or the place for a public service announcement about your thoughts on the POTUS!

I'm not mad and no one else is either I don't think but it was a poor choice of words and timing!

Kind of one of those things where you say it and think nothing more of it and when you get in the car on the way home and the wife says you shouldn't have said that!
