Didn't listen to it, but by the tweets I saw it looked like he uttered the words "Radical Islamic Terrorism", which drew a loud applause - obviously a phrase that is appreciated by his followers and disliked by his opponents.
Is this a result of the ACA though? I'm legitimately asking. I feel like in today's world people are generally more educated on health (regardless of ACA) and are bombarded with Organic eating, and various workout plans, that may be what's creating the Health Movement you're referencing.
I see insurance as the problem anyway. Affordable healthcare would be charging $20 for an office visit instead of $150+. It doesn't cost that much to have a nurse take vitals and allow you to sit in the exam room for a half hour waiting to have the doctor come and look in your ears and listen to your heart/lungs. The cost is so high for different reasons but most of them come back to the root of it being somehow related to the insurance companies. They control everything.
If I had a dollar for every time I documented one denying coverage for something that actually helped the patient, I'd retire!
The more I think about it, I do think it took balls to take shots at the very people who were sitting in the rows behind him. To pull that off, in that moment...I think it speaks volumes for how the next 4 years are going to operate, and that is extremely refreshing.
He did.
He screwed up saying that we were going to eradicate Radical Islamic Terrorism, because that's about impossible. If he can do that, he should be made president for life.
Significantly parting from the past 8 years of presidential speeches, the President did not use the word "I" one time, other than to say "I take the oath of office" and "I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I won't let you down"

i can't help but believe that the people who remained uninsured are not as healthy as the people who regularly see a doctor.
He basically shit all over the Obama administration while Obama had a front row seat. And as Hark alluded to he pretty much said and I'm paraphrasing "I'm gonna stomp a mud hole in extreme Islamic terrorisms ass"
I hope everyone in this country gets to regularly see a doctor.
I just don't want to have to pay for them to do it.
I'm under the impression a lot of the cost is due to litigation as well. In today's world if a doctor makes a minor mistake, you can take her and her practice to the cleaners in court. They need to protect themselves financially so they charge much more than fair price so they have the funds to settle lawsuits (frivolous or not) as they arise.
Bear in mind, the amounts I said here were for SINGLE individuals. So, you can imagine my cost with a wife and two kids.
I actually shopped the market and got my own policy outside of work, and am forced to go with multiple "short term" policies throughout the year to minimize the cost on my end. It's crazy to have to go about it this way.
And FWIW -- my mother is on Obamacare and was happy with it, until my youngest brother broke his ankle and she has had to pay that entire bill out of pocket... All the folks who are happy with their coverage...I wonder if that would remain if they had a big invoice come across.
i cannot say that it's a direct result, no...not sure there's enough data, so if i implied that, i didn't mean to.
it seems to me, again, that i speak with more people now that see a doctor, get physicals, treat chronic conditions, and take better care of themselves...all they've said is; "i never went to a doctor until we got insurance."
i also said the aca needed some tweaking.
Oh, the ACA is undoubtedly better for those that didn't have insurance beforehand. There's no question about that. The questions are just whether their benefit should be compensated by others, and whether those with insurance previously are better or worse off under the new system.
Do you think the people who got ripped off with such a huge increase in premiums will now see a reduction in premiums once this is repealed though? I'm thinking the insurance companies see now what people will pay and will continue to charge as much for less coverage.
I think privatizing it creates competition and if insurance carriers do not lower their costs, they'll be put out of business.

The blunt tone with the establishment sitting behind him should leave little doubt about him being anyone's puppet.
I thought T-Rump made a political speech...lot's of promises!! Proof is in the pudding though...as someone that voted for him because he made jobs a big part of his platform, which I believe is a yhuge problem in this country, he had better make great strides towards his promise.....I won't hold my breathe because frankly I don't trust DC in any way shape or form.....time will tell and it is my intent to call it as I see it with T-Rump....

What are you saying better to come to fruition there? There's no promises or goals or anything stated there. He's simply saying what (at least in his opinion) happened in the past.
The cost of care is an entirely different story, dont get me started on that. I was simply saying that if you remove health underwriting, the costs will ALWAYS sky rocket. Insurance 101 = you cannot give everyone the same rates because each individual has different risks. Same reason a 16 year old driver gets charged a much higher rate than a 35 year old with a clean driving record. In order to make money (the goal of private insurance companies, whether we like to admit or not) the companies must be able to discriminate between who they offer coverage to and at what pricing level.
And you're living in a dream world if you think the actual cost for an "office visit" will ever be less than $100 ... with a copay, yes .. but not full retail price. That's like expecting milk for 35 cents a gallon.
That's not fair though. We should get all things for free because old white men.
