Sure seems like you choose a few of my words to initiate some argument that doesn't exist, maybe to fit some narrative but Ill bite... In good faith or not, Alabamaheel simply asked about why Otzelberger, I added my 2 cents, normal behavior on a message board. First I said "might" not be an option. This basically means how probable would it be to land a high profile candidate. First lets establish names that would be considered high profile candidates with "accolades". Dan Hurley, Nat Oats, Scott Dew, Mark Few, Jay Wright, Bill Self, Kalvin Sampson... My comment basically means MAYBE or it's quite possible none of those coaches (high profile) would be options for the UNC HC job. Therefore we may need to adjust and accept other candidates outside of this high profile pool. Otzelberger, Kelsey, DeVries, heck what about Luke Murry(UConn) and many others in their own category, COULD based on their history, correct the ship. I'm not part of the camp screaming to fire HD but I am a realistic fan, see the writing on the wall and willing to consider all options. I think HD should get another year but in the meantime, at some point, leadership should work behind the scenes to build interest from high profile candidates. Your claim "If we hire a guy named Otzelberger, we may as well shut the program down." WTH? Just based on his last three years at Iowa State and where the program was the two years before he arrived, kinda kills that blind claim you made. Is he or someone in his caliber guaranteed to right the ship? Of course not, no one is making a guarantee or think they have the correct answer but the world is taking notice, coaching is a major problem with this UNC program right now and it's time to start problem solving...

D, I agree 100%, great point of view. Your point of having better quality players and constructing the roster correctly certainly would cover up lack of coaching ability or experience, get us closer to a top 10. The misses have been devastating for this coaching staff. Oh yea, it would have been really cool to get Brea, I didn't realize UNC had a chance with him. Tyson is really a head scratcher for me. Not just his lack of contribution so far but his historic, scope of work showed he was streaky but could get hot against lesser competition. I guess the staff was willing to throw resources at him and like I mentioned in another thread, the possibility of another Manek pulled the coaches in I guess. Lubin and Claude seem like leftovers, maybe out of desperation for this staff? It WILL be interesting to see what the portal looks like and how HD and staff will perform. Are you concerned this UNC team will have players leave, I mean, hit the portal? It seems there are some serious problems brewing within this team. Additionally, watching IJ, he doesn't seem content, his body language is off as of late. He more than likely leaves due to the draft but if not, does he stay for this? EC is another one I could see leaving for some reason.

Ok, so my last post, at least I think, for the day, will answer your questions.

First off, Lubin and Claude, yes, they were desperation and we almost fumbled Lubin away. Next, first time I watched Tyson in a regular season against a solid team, it was as clear as could be, kid is not what he was hyped to be. No offense to the kid at all but the talent eval was WAY OFF on him.

Players to leave via the portal, yeah, I know Cadeau's mom is not happy but I think in the end I see Cadeau coming back. I mean look, he is a lock to start at the point, will be a JR and likely the head of the snake for next season. I think Jack stays in the next draft, suspect Drake comes back. I as well expect High rejoins the team. I expect at LEAST 1 but maybe 2 centers to be brought in, along with the freshman Wilson for the 4 spot. I do think 1 of the centers is a high level guy and the other maybe a lesser known guy like Wolf or Goldin were for the last portal. I think that shuffles Lubin out, hoping it moves Jalen more to the 4 backing Wilson up. Right now, the 2 guys that will have eligibility that I see leaving are Tyson and Lubin.

I honestly think losing RJ has to be addressed by the portal, we have Seth and we have 2 very talented combo 2s freshmen on the way, I really like the Dixon kid's smooth Danny Green like stroke. I also think, some may not get this, I think Drake at the 3 backed up by, Caleb Wilson. I think the kid is more a 3/4 than 4/3, he will be a NBA 3 and could be a 2 if he develops more. Now lets assemble that.

2 guard - Seth, backed up by Dixon, Denis, Drake
Wing 3 - Drake, backed up by Caleb Wilson

I really think a wing scorer/ shooter is almost as important as a portal 5 next season.
I gotta say I don't like the combo of Cadeau and Trimble as the starting guard tandem.
That is not championship level scoring wise.
A portal 5 is a must.
I also think we need one for sure, if not two players in tge frontcourt that are better than Caleb Wilson.
He can't be the best player up front, or we will be right back to where we are this year.
High is the wildcard. He can be that high level 3rd big if he is back.

Sort of. But not really. The Belichick impact has largely already happened. His hiring signaled a change in the way our AD operates and the way our donors view our programs. In short, the athletic department and boosters needed a wake-up call to the realities of the current landscape. We were goofing around talking about the Carolina Way while other big boy programs were hiring GMs and lining up endorsement deals. The Belichick hire basically told everybody, “ok, we’re willing to drop this student-athlete baloney and operate like a professional club”. Because that’s exactly what Belichick has set in motion. And by doing so, he’s unlocked the funding potential that has always been there and for some reason, gone untapped.

Whether Belichick fails in his coaching of the team or not is largely irrelevant. We’ve made the move to a pro style model. We’re not going back. No one is.

Absolutely no ill intent toward the poster's name, or your take, none, zero, but the "private dick" as detective slang, although I'm familiar, is not the first usage that comes to mind for me as the slang meanings for dick. 😆

Always been first and foremost about getting the Jimmy and Joe's in college. Your X's and O's can be great, but it's a different animal doing it with mid players compared to studs. Seems like they are going to be competitive for the elite spending money wise. Go get 'em.

The Dean haters always said anyone could look good with Worthy, Perkins, Jordan on the roster, how did you not not win more Natty's. Not those days anymore to pick from the top 20 kids, and say we will win with you or without you to just the pick from the cream of the crop. The kids have options today, gotta compete for why here for less? Seems like they are ready to actually work for top notch talent, not just expect it from the brand.

On the Baha podcast, hosted by former Tar Heels Raymond Felton and Theo Pinson, along with guest Justin Jackson, the trio shared their opinions on the game. Their takes on sophomore point guard Elliot Cadeau were less than flattering.

“We need a point guard too,” Felton said bluntly. “He has a lot to learn. To me, he plays a lot of bully ball, but he’s not really a bully.”

Felton didn’t hold back in his assessment of Cadeau, and it didn’t end there.

“The point guard position is very pivotal for us right now, and it’s not being played at a high level,” Pinson added.

Yep, they all went in hard on Elliot. To me it's the feel for the moment that he is lacking, he doesn't seem to have a sense for the moment. Each possession is just a individual moment.

On defense as well, diving for loose balls or bobbles, getting silly fouls. He sees the court great, hustles, but it's not catered to the game situation as the point guiding the action, it's just react on each play as a separate entity.
