Quick stuff (State game)...

No I did not. Anybody picking on EC does so at their risk. He is playing excellent defense both on and off ball. And if my PG doesn't have a few fouls at the end of the game with as much time he spends guarding the ball, then he probably ain't trying.
Ok. If I knew how I’d tag or play you the whole ND game back. All but maybe a few plays.

OK?... Arright... on that note, here are the results of EC on defense in scoring attempts at ND:
(and BTW, every opponent here is 2-8 inches taller)
- man-on drive iso attempt --- stoned, forced TO
- challenge in J --- miss (and EC rebound)
- challenge on swiitch --- miss
- challenge on switch --- make
- challenge on switch --- make
- box-out on Big picked up from switch --- ball OB to UNC
- drive --- steal, then fouled
- drive --- (bad hedge by Withers gets in the way), make
- drive --- foul (good call)
- challenge on J --- miss
- challenge on switch --- miss
- help switch --- steal
- drive --- forced pass-off
- drive --- give-up foul at end of half (no bonus)
- drive on switch --- forced back-out
- drive --- EC fouled by illegal screen, forced TO
- help --- forced TO
- help --- missed steal, ball OB to ND
- drive --- foul (sketchy call)
- Burton iso --- stoned stop
- Burton catch-and-drive --- make
- switch --- forced give-up
- switch onto PF --- make (but immediately followed by dish to Wash for dunk on the other end)
- drive ---foul (bad call)
- drive --- team-up with Wash for lane switch and backside seal, forced key TO (when down 3 in final minute)
- drive --- final game-saving stop

So, there ya have it. Sure, sometimes opponents are gonna score, but the relatively few times it happened they just made shots --- it sure as hell wasn't from bad D. And all told, that's a pretty damn stout stop-rate.

And just for good measure, here's an example --- textbook:

I’m glad you went to the trouble to try to prove your point. The fact that several people on here posted literally the opposite makes them all blind. Once again congrats on over hyping a player and wishing him to be untouchable. I really enjoy some of your stuff but dang it man you get impossible stuff in your head. There were guys from this board literally at that game who call him out for being a sieve on defense for the game, and have seen it at other times. He makes mistakes. They all do.

Y'know what? GMAMFB.
I know how to analyze video. I've friggin done it before and I know wtf I'm looking at.
Oh, but wait, there were "guys at the game"? Seriously? As Roy liked to say, "the eye in the sky don't lie" --- but I'll tell ya what does: Fans' eyes watching a game live through the lens of their own damn preconceived narratives.

And for the record, literally NOBODY said ANYBODY was "untouchable". And I have NEVER said EC, nor anyone else for that matter, hasn't made mistakes. FACT is, I have called them out on here --- last season I was critical of his off-ball footwork, but again, FACT is he has improved that immensely. And FACT is, I also criticized him for freshman mistakes of being baited into fouls, but FACT is he has improved immensely in that area as well. And FACT is I have been critical this season for EC letting his emotions compound bad stretches. That is a work-in-progress.

So yeah man, damn straight I "went to the trouble" of proving a point -- why?.., because that point just so happens to be accurate, and I don't appreciate being told it's not just because it flies in the face of someone's preconceptions. Moreover, I "go to the trouble" to keep detailed notes and write these analysis pieces in the first place because some folks on here enjoy them --- then I go back and rewatch to correct anything I missed the first go-around and/or pick up nuance and add that to the thread where applicable.

I don't gey paid for this, but I'm generally happy to share what my eyes and experience tell me and engage in hoops talk... BUT I am sick and tired of a few people being determined to attack me just because something I post doesn't fit a certain narrative. If you (or anyone) disagree with my take, then fine --- but questioning the integrity of what I'm writing is sure as hell not. Frankly, I'm done with that shit.

Gary I’m pretty sure you didn’t really read my post. I said I do enjoy some of your stuff. We are not always gonna agree 100%. Has it ever occurred you that you have the narrative? Has it ever occurred to you that you have a lens on when you watch, record, write, or take notes in a game? Ive never been one to attack or pile it on like a few others on here so don’t lump me in with every else. And don’t cuss me.
I do appreciate discussing, and remember from your written words, its your eyes and your experience from which you write. I promise you others have eyes and experience. I apologize if it seems like I was attacking the integrity of what you write by disagreeing.
