Gary, thanks for posting that. That is exactly the way a leader should react and it shows exactly who Joel is. By having it come from Joel, Coach's message will be echoed once again and it will be a little more relatable for them. The rest of the guys especially the younger guys will realize how important each game is and how much this means to him, this lost definitely hit home to Joel and it is not the way he wants his team to be. There's not a better guy to have it come from, he's not just going to say it to them, he is going to physically go out there each and every play giving it his all. This is another reason that Joel's experience and mentality are so vital to the success of this team because he has been through the same ups and downs as the rest of the guys and has persevered through them with the right mindset and focus to achieve his goals and that of the teams.
Joel saying it to the guys really leads me to believe that our team will be okay, there is no way that Joel is going to let that game define who this team is and allow the rest of the guys to play like that. He is way too much of a competitor and a fighter to lead a team that doesn't give there all 100% of the time, it just isn't in his nature. His competitive nature is going to be huge for us down the road and I really believe that it will help to get us where we need to be as a team, I think he needs to show them how great they can be like against Tennessee when they all kept fighting together and never let up even in a game where not everything was going there way by still being able to put it together and pull it out.
When Joel is locked in there is no better leader in the country and no one that I trust more to carry our guys. There is no doubt that he will come out extremely motivated tomorrow and send a message to the rest of the team that this is the way that things need to be done and will be done.
