I'll start. With Kyan Evans.

I'm not saying Kyan will be as good as I think Elliot might be this year, but I think he might be as good as or even a little better than Elliot was for us last year.

His videos look good. AJ's very upbeat review of him makes me optimistic that he'll add shooting, leadership and consistency - albeit at a cost of upside.

All in all, a solid starter, if not a star.

Good addition.

None of these portal guys moves the needle A LOT for me. None make me wanna go get season tickets right now. I hope they all prove to be more than I am expecting right now.

Ya know WW, you could maybe stop right here and have the answer that so many seem to thirst for. Is Evans enough of a PG to give us what Cadeau gave us last season or would be expected to next season. First I would suggest it is and has always been about what Cadeau may become which is far different from what he has been playing for us. I am going to tell you that Cadeau was fools gold when the discussion is about what he could be vs what he has been.

We are playing out this myth of Cadeau to the reality of Evans. What I saw with my own eyes with Cadeau is a immature kid that showed that immaturity on the court. He seemed to need to argue every call that went against him, sorry but those were not all bad calls. This is a kid that would pick up his 1st foul argue about it and a min later pick up his second and get pissed because he was pulled to the bench?
He had this small bubble of family and friends that kept feeding him as one of the future best stars ever to hit a basketball court, that he could do no wrong, it was everyone else against him. You saw that with his mom all over twitter, his brother in a interview with Locked On Tar Heels, all making excuses for him, saw way to many fans right here do the same. Those in his bubble and the fans that kept making excuse after excuse for him, oh that guy should have caught that pass, oh that guy should have finished, oh the refs were out to get him, oh if Hubert only allowed him to play like he should have, one excuse after another. Man, I am tired of excuses, over it!

No one is going to make any excuses for Evans, he didn't need them to last season, he may not shine as bright in the eyes of some but he doesn't have to. Sure, there are things Cadeau could do that Evans can't but there are things that Evans can do that Cadeau didn't seem able to, like consistently hit a wide open jump shot, like actually taking care of the ball, like making the solid pass more than the flashy pass, like not acting like a spoiled child every time the refs blows his whistle. I fully believe all the excuse making for Cadeau did him a severe disservice, all that hype hurt him more than helped.

Evans is just a kid that will come in and give you what he has to give and not bring drama, he is a solid piece, that is what we have in this portal, solid pieces that should fit together well, we need 1 more piece now that Lubin is in the portal. If Roy had brought this portal group in folks would be cheering it but because Hubert did the cheers are silent? This is a very strong portal group in my strong opinion already and would be so much stronger if we get a good fit to back up the center spot.
