Guys think about it for a minute. When was the last time that Carolina received a commitment from a elite recruit that waited to the spring signing period to sign? He had already taken all of his visits before the fall signing period ended. This type of recruitment that drags out until the spring signing period wreaks of shadiness. Just think over the last few years the players that dragged their recruitment out until the very last moment. Just last year Kevin Knox and Brian Bowen waited until the end and we know how they played out and why. There was already speculation about Zion/Adidas and Kansas before the FBI sting broke. I just saw an article where the family is taking their time and picking the best fit for Zion. These articles almost become comical. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Zion is a luxury. Who would he start over next season? Don't get me wrong, I will take Zion in a country minute, but the Heels will not be hurting next year, especially if Felton comes back. Not sure about Cam coming back.

Felton
Williams/Coby
Little/Leaky
Maye/Brooks
Manley/Huffman

Roy is not going to bench Maye for Zion. Duke may do that, but not Roy. Zion would get starter minutes, but doubt he starts over Maye or Little.

Johnson would likely be in the rotation as well.

And the point of your post is?

We can have the debate if Zion starts if he committed to us.

College game Maye and Zion can play together we'll 3/4 just like 4/5 same in college game.

Roy will start the best option. Zion's jumper might take some time to develop, but he can score in the college game easily with his body and athletic ability.

The way this team is playing now, and with the class already signed for '18 I see three scenarios:
1. Zion is a Heel, the team is phenomenal in 18-19
2. Zion is not a Heel, the team is still phenomenal, albeit without an unstoppable force of nature in the line-up.
3. The loss of Joel and Theo is more than anyone anticipated and everything goes to sh*t in 18-19 with or without Zion (this is, I believe, the least likely option)
In short... all good, lets just see what he chooses.

BTW, I heard from strong source in my household today that Z will be a Tar Heel ... sorry but cannot reveal this source..... but write it down ... Roy does it again!!!!!!!
According to your source when is he likely to announce his decision?

Rasheed Wallace! What do I win?

Given what it takes to play meaningful minutes under Roy(DEFENSE), what is Zion’s rep related to defense, effort, motor etc?

I know the kid is a man child and dominates on every level thus far but has anyone have insight on Zion’s game past the offensive end?

Zion don’t start???? Hahahahaha come on now. Those are some fine Carolina blue glasses you have on.

Its a legit point. Hes 6’5. Who does he bump? He cant play 1, 4 or 5. He aint taking williams spot at the 2. So that leaves the 3 which presumably matches him against little.

Zion is 6'5" barefoot, meaning ~6'6 in shoes. He's a 4.

We'd go:

PG (honestly not sure who this would be at this point)
Kenny
Little
Zion
Maye

If Zion commits we recruited over everyone. Little Zion and Coby are all starting day 1.

Recruiting over the '17 bigs would be 100% reasonable, and I don't think they'd be too mad about it. They're 4-year guys, so playing backup roles as sophomores is appropriate.

Coby over Felton (and Woods, I suppose) would be more contentious.

Soon ... but it's a done deal l was told yesterday.
I have zero percent confidence in your source being correct but I really hope to be proven wrong. You'd gain legendary status pretty quick on this board if your source nails this one.

Question: if Zion was going to decide soon then why is he a spring signee? Most spring signees typically commit in the spring. Just seems odd he would commit so soon after the fall signing period ends.

Wouldnt maye be the 4?

5

you saw Maye at the 5, Pinson at the 4, with Robinson at the 3 a lot today. Roy is still recruiting Zion, and Zion aint coming if he isn't starting.

I fully anticipate Maye starting at the 5 once Cam Johnson is back

Sometimes the "starter" tag is not as meaningful as the minutes played. Zion is definitely a beast but can he run the UNC pace out of the gate on the college level ?

Does Cam's injury increase the likelihood that he sticks around? That would be my guess.

I guess it will depend on how well he plays when he gets back, and if he can remain healthy for the rest of the season. I kind of thought he would be back even before the injury, but I also thought Bradley would be back this year and we know how that turned out.

Tonight's game is one of those where I really wish we had Tony back. Also against Duke.
