No visit=no shittu.Only 1 (of 16) predictions has Shittu to UNC - and it's the oldest prediction.
Before Little committed, we had a slight lead over Vandy. Yesterday we were at 25%; today we're at 6%.
Oh my! That doesn't look good.

One of my favorite all time hymns:
"We're marching to Zion, beautiful beautiful Zion!"
Keep hearing that.Name that could get interesting now is EJ Mongomery...
Wasn't his name mentioned in the scandal? Or am I thinking of someone else?Name that could get interesting now is EJ Mongomery...
No, you're not understand. I know this is hard to believe to us since we're Carolina fans, but not every one who walks this earth thinks UNC is the end all / be all lol. There's plenty of players who end up liking another school(s) more than UNC because it's a better fit for that individual or just feels more like home.Sure, there must be some reason. But what?
Even if he wants to be THE man, he could be that here. Maybe not so easily with Jalek and Little and Coby and some others on the same team, but he'd still be the top-ranked guy on the team - and he either believes in himself or he doesn't.
Maybe he just doesn't think he's good enough to compete against those guys to be best on a really good team. But underestimating yourself isn't usually the problem we see with these top-ranked kids.

Which is not to say he did anything wrong.
The vast majority I think and the vast majority of us realize that. No, you're not understand. The package talk for Vandy is Shittu, Garland, and Langford. I think most package talk is usually nonsense but they are at least in it for all three I think. I didn’t think Shittu was ever coming here anyway.
Missing on Shittu is a shame. Nearly a perfect fit for us, as far as I could tell (based only on watching his clips).
He would either start for us, or come off the bench and play starter minutes - depending on how our current crop of bigs develops this year. In other words, the next Brandan or the next Marvin. With a good chance of playing on a Final Four team or better.
Why would he think Vandy is a better home?
Let's hope not.Name that could get interesting now is EJ Mongomery...
EJ is not a Big that fits the UNC mold. Highly skilled but not a strong post game. Not a good enough outside shooter yet to be a Stretch. He is a very good passer though. All things considered I would much rather have Bacot.Perfect time to get in on EJ Montgomery. Seems that he hasn't made a new, official list since he decommitted. Top 30 big that may not be a OAD.
The offers we have to the '19 Bigs don't give me much confidence.
Mikey, I'm gonna say something I wouldn't have thought a few weeks ago: We actually have a legit chance to get Zion.Indeed!

I'm certainly not counting on it happening, but after what I was told tonight I'll definitely be paying attention.

Yep. I'm just looking at it as a potential luxury. We can be done right now and we're good, but if we could somehow land a spectacular talent like that, even for just a year, that's gravy. The he only thing I feel confident in saying about Zion is that we are definitely in it. As for the final decision, well, we shall see. If nothing else seems the FBI has changed some things for the better...Trying not to get to hi on him but a lot of rumblings out there that are encouraging. Still think Clemson is the team to beat. But can you just imagine, White, Black, Little and Zion all at once? Throw in any big and look out!

No offense Dave, but what in the Wide Wide World of Sports are you even talking about???Montgomery is listed at 6'10" and 200lbs...
"EJ is not a Big that fits the UNC mold." What is a big that fits the UNC mold, was it Brice who was 6'9" and maybe 185 when he got to us, he wasn't a stretch 4 either.
"Highly skilled but not a strong post game." What the heck does that mean, either he is highly skilled or he isn't but he can't be both in the same sentence? LOL Is it physical strength you mean, if so again we have had a bunch of front court guys that were not exactly body builders when they got to us.
" Not a good enough outside shooter yet to be a Stretch", a STRETCH at UNC, a stretch isn't exactly a fit for the UNC big man mold. Luke is the first 4 we have had since, well since maybe Jawad that would have been considered a stretch 4?
"All things considered I would much rather have Bacot" ? Has Bacot committed to us and I didn't get the memo? FRankly, if I have the choice of going yet another season with the front court we have right now and being able to add a 6'10" 5 star from the 2018 class, think I want the 2018 kid.
Really, struggling to understand what you are saying here, as if you are alluding to other factors but throwing smoke as to the real reasons you may not want him. Geez man, we tar Heels should all be ticked we got Little and frankly, it would not hurt my feelings at all to add a 6'10" 5 star power forward to this 2018 class. He decomitted from Auburn but that program is right now a train wreck, hard to blame a kid for getting away from all that current drama. Is he a bad kid, was he as bad a kid while he was committed to Auburn? Sorry but this strikes me more like you being pissed he left Auburn more than he not fitting what Roy would need.
Not really sure why people are even talking about this Montgomery kid. Has Roy even offered him? To me shittu not visiting *could* be an indicator something has happened positively with Zion.
Again, a little confused where the talk of Montgomery is even coming from seeing as we still have two of the top 5 players in this class on our board.

My post was clear and concise. He's a skilled tall kid who shows little affinity for a post game and not a good enough deep shooter to be a true stretch. Tell me how that fits a need at Carolina?
Honestly I don't get why we're even talking about '18 players. For me it's Zion (or maybe Langford, although he isn't a need) or move on.
Does Roy really accept verbals?
In my experience, Roy normally requires the verbal to go public ASAP. With Zs pending visit to Clem this weekend, maybe we will know something Sun or Mon otherwise, l think we forget @ Z & Shittu!
I'll give you the answer everyone else loves to give when wondering about Roy's decisions:
No one knows what's going on behind the scene.
There is no smoke in what I posted. And YOU are better than to get sucked in by rankings, brother!Gary, if your post was clear and concise I would not have found myself trying to figure out what the heck it was talking about? I am not trying to offend but trying to find out what the issue is you really have with the Montgomery kid. Dang man, when ya say he is highly skilled but not a post player nor a stretch you have to realize that doesn't make a ton of sense. he is highly skilled but does not fit the UNC mold for front court guys, what the heck does that mean because that is neither clear nor concise.
Zion is a 18 kid as is Langford and neither are area of need, area of need, I think we can all agree is FRONT COURT. If we can get a 5 star 6'10" kid in 2018 that is not a problem child then why would we not be excited to consider him? If you have something on him that is not well known, great, share it, if the kid has phony grades share it, if the kid has a handler problem share that, if pearl was going to allow something that Roy will not, by all means share it. But don't give me smoke and expect me to accept it man, come on, you better than that!

Again, EJ is a 5* tweener. He's a 5* because he's very skilled for his height, but plays too much like a Guard. He ain't likely to walk in and grab the 5 position here. He'll be a good-passing Stretch-4 who will need to spend a lot of gym-time shooting.
If EJ came here ---- which I highly doubt --- I'm sure we could make good use of him. But Zion at 4 inches shorter will give us more on the glass and in the paint. Jes' sayin'.
