Riddles (because I'm bored)

John went to see the Pyramids in Egypt in 1996. It was the first time he ever saw them. He took his son to see the Pyramids in Egypt in 1969. How is this possible?

Maybe that is a clearer way of wording it.

When he took his son in 1969, he was a blind man and didn't see them. But by 1996 he had undergone surgery to gain his eyesight, and upon going to Egypt again, can now see?

Ha! that's overthinking it. :)

I'm not sure what other clues I could give without either confusing it or giving it away.

It's a simple answer that someone will probably get mad at me for.

Has more to do with it being the Pyramids in Egypt than Egypt itself.

How could he have seen them for the first time in 1996 yet he saw them in 1969?
I'm guessing Pyramids is the name of a place or something, and not the actual structures. I don't know, I give up lol. I suck at this stuff. I'll just wait until whenever someone guesses it.

A tongue?

I'm not mad at you - but I am mad at the riddle (more mad than I should be anyways).

There is vital information missing from the riddle itself - which I think defeats the purpose of a riddle.

Actually nothing is missing from the riddle (if it can be called that.) You just have to come at it from a different direction. I'm not trying to be smart.

You could also put "Stonehenge" in place of the Pyramids and it would work.

No, there's no trick like that. The Pyramid of Giza, etc...

I'm posting the answer in the spoiler for anyone who wants to know. Please don't throw things at me.
The dates are BC

Not including "BC" or "BCE" in the riddle makes those dates incorrect.

Here's an old one:

A man is looking at a picture and makes the statement "Brothers and sisters, I have none but this man's father is my father's son. Who is in the picture?

That would work.
The son is in the picture - his father is the person talking, who is obviously his own father's son

But since its a riddle, I'm sure it's some weird situation where a son married a grandmother or something.
The man in the picture has to be the same person as the man talking

I don't see how that is possible. "this man's father is my father's son."

If it's a picture of the man talking, his father is his father - not his father's son.

Think about it if the family line was Sr-Jr-III. If the picture is of "III", then this man's father is Jr., and Jr. is Sr.'s son.

The man said that he had no brothers or sisters. Then he said that the man in the pictures father was his father's son. It can be nobody but myself..

If he's looking at a picture of himself.... the man in the picture's father, is his own father. How is his own father his father's son?

If you look at a picture of yourself, what kin is the man in the picture to your father? He's your father's son correct?

Yes that is correct. But the above is not what you posted in the riddle. You didn't say the man in the picture is your father's son. You said, the man in the pictures father, is your father's son.

Don't take my word for it. Google the riddle......

Two girls were born to the same mother, on the same day, at the same time, in the same month and year and yet they're not twins. How can this be?
