Never understood why kids want to continue being recruited by schools when they know where they are going. Giles has all but said Duke is at the top of his list.
Opinion here BUT if Coach Williams visits Giles and then Giles does as expected and attends Duke, THEN Dook can actually say that they beat UNC (amongst others) for Giles services. I simply refer to it as "K"ay 101 (all, imo)...
Giles and his dad want to take official visits. Experience the perks of being the top recruit in the country. Don't really blame him, must be an amazing experience for a teenager.
Might actually be losing traction on Gabriel, which might be why K offered DeLaurier.

Could the duke case be over stated for Giles and this be the reason the offer went out to Delaurer? Personally I think Delaurer is looking hard at playing for Shaka, not saying that is a done deal but don't be surprised if it plays out that way.
No, it has more to do with Gabriel than Giles. Gabriel might end up going to Maryland because of the playing time crunch at Duke, so K is looking at a plan B there. Texas was thought to be the front runner for DeLaurier but he wasn't really expecting a Duke offer. Academics are HUGE for him and his parents love Duke.
He's also a multi year player that would stick around well after Giles leaves. Need to bulk up in that front as well.
I have read that dook's pursuit of Delaurier will leave Gabriel out in the cold.

Sure. But most of the time here, I want to believe the suspect info so I'm more tolerant of it. When outsiders are here, fronting like an insider for some type of message board notoriety, I chuckle.
You are a good guy Tra but the Duke dislike for Barnes is mostly over the fact they think he told some of their guys he was coming there while playing pick up ball with them. This idea he decided on UNC long before he did is just silly and nothing but sour grapes. The truth is that Barnes was the kind of kid Duke fans thought should attend Duke. He was smart and respectful. He was classy and measured and concerned about academics. He was what they thought was a Duke kid. It eats them up he actually ended up being all of those things but went to UNC instead. So they trash him.

As for Giles...he is going to Duke. They are on a roll right now and that class is going to be tremendous for them. Once this NCAA stuff is over UNC will be back recruiting better but Duke is rolling right now on the trail for sure. It sucks but happens. It has been us at times and will be again. It just isn't right now.
Roy will and needs to experiment with line-ups because how else will he figure out who is most effective with whom. How will he know who he can count on when the bullets start to fly? You can't just look at practice or rankings to find these things out. UNC must change many things ,but not those that have proven effective. I agree that we need to make sure it is not at the expense of early wins, but with the injuries we have suffered lately, we should all LOVE that Roy plays his peeps! (especially since this is one of our main complaints against The Rat King)

Well ,Giles has rescheduled his visit with us to October now...this is not a good sign if we even had one in the first place!!
Don't think it could be a bad sign getting a later visit. But pretty much would be an uphill battle anyway. Later the visit the more chance of geting a final word in.
