Welp, the past couple of days on this site have featured considerable angst (from myself included), and also a variety of offerings, ranging from the frankly absurd (Roy being on a "hot seat"), to apples-and-oranges (comparisons to 1994), to a swing-and-a-miss (lack of talent). And as for the podcast... I'll just retreat to my southern roots and say, "bless their hearts".

Sprinkled betwixt and between the above have been some legit observations and concerns (e.g., consistency, intensity, poise). For my money, the roots of these boil down to roles, rotation and confidence therein. How Roy chooses to wrangle said roots Saturday at Miami may well give us a clue to how long a post-season we may be able to look forward to...

Yeah, I'll watch as I usually do, and I'll swear, cheer, high-five and stomp-off to the bathroom after a bad play....

Isn't following Carolina basketball fun...lol!

Seriously though, I don't have a good vibe going into this game with Miami....The Hurricanes are in desparate need of victories with their NCAA tourney hopes hanging in the balance....Most pundits say the Tarheels are a lock for the tournament, which doesn't help our "sense of urgency" position....Not to mention, our team-confidence may be at a season low at the moment....I hope this team can just snap out of this funk that their in, but I just don't see that happening down in Coral Gables....Hope I'm wrong!

Well, Rick, I don't normally bother to look at their picks (no offense to them), but I did this time and it seems that 4 outta 7 staff members agree with you.

I dunno. Some are pointing to our big men as the issue, but honestly, provided the zebras call anywhere near a fair game on the blocks (and of course there's no guarantee of that), I think our Bigs have a bit more pride and fortitude than many are giving them credit for. I have a feeling they come out angry tomorrow.

But a key for the Bigs that so many seem to miss is that a big man's success often depends on when and where they get the ball and the floor spacing when they do. So, why did our Bigs dominate at dook and yet get dominated by State? Well... at dook Joel Berry was playing PG most of the night (and when he wasn't late in the game the passing angles dried up), and Tokoto was playing mostly inside the arc to clean up the misses.
