Seen any good movies?

I watched it a few nights ago. First time I've seen either one of them. Had to split it up into two viewings though. That's too much to watch all at once for me.
I don't blame you... at least two.

James Caan was a perfect Sonny Corleone.

Yeah, the Godfather epic is an interesting way to watch it, but I feel you kind of lose part of what makes II so great by seeing Michael and Vito's mirrored journeys. I was glad I watched it that way, but I still prefer them individually.

It's crazy how many in that cast were/became such big stars. I don’t know who the casting director was, but that was like drafting an all-star with every pick a team has in one draft.
Yep; Brando, Pacino, Caan, Duvall, Keaton, and don't forget this guy....

Godfather part 2 may be better than the first, and that's saying something because the first Godfather was the best movie ever.
Many times in list of great movies I and II are listed as a single entity.

Greatest scenes ever. still keeps me in total awe. I'll never forget seeing it for the first time(The Godfather I) in the theatre in 1972 when I was 14. My mother and her aunt had read the book and couldn't wait to see the movie. My cousin and I were allowed to come along even tough it was "R".

The flash back to the dinner scene and Michael sitting alone and then sitting alone at the end of II and everybody else is dead. Damn just Damn.

Yeah that was friggin hilarious. LeBron is such a phony.

Oh but don't you know how hard it is on LeBron? He never had a TV growing up, or the $5 needed to rent the Godfather. Nevermind that he's a mutlimillionaire now - he still doesn't have the money to watch the movie because he donates so much to charity. He also doesn't have the time to watch the movie because he's always working out in the gym to get better to make sure he doesn't let down his teammates. I bet Jordan doesn't know Godfather quotes either, and if he does, it's because it was so much easier to watch the Godfather back in his day.

neither did Lebron after claiming to have watched it multiple times before game 7 and being asked by a reporter for his favorite quote.

Hadn't heard about this, mostly because I don't pay attention to it, but that's case in point why he is so hard to like. Same as trying to convince me he drives a Kia. Anyway....

Just finished watching Independence Day (the first one). It may not be the greatest movie ever, but damn if it's not an entertaining watch. Will Smith is great, it's got peak Goldblum, plus it has one of the greatest speeches in movie history. Oddly enough, it kind of made me excited for the new one, even though I still know it's probably gonna suck.

Has anybody seen "The Legend of Tarzan" ? I have been fascinated with Tarzan since reading the books and watching Ron Ely as Tarzan on T.V..

Deadpool, Jungle Book, X-Men, enjoyed all of them.
One of the theaters here is offering $5 admission on Tuesdays, along with $2 popcorn &drinks, so I'll try to see a few more this summer. Looking forward to Tarzan and Jason Bourne and Jack Reacher 2 in the fall.
The Saenger theater in downtown Pensacola has the summer classic series on Saturday night, only $5. In the past they've had Jaws, The Birds, Casablanca, Vertigo, Wizard of Oz, and many other greats. I know this year they have The Sting, Gone With The Wind, Citizen Kane, The Maltese Falcon and 6 other classics that I can't recall.

I went to the movies this weekend and saw both Finding Dory and Independence Day: Resurgence. Kind of polar opposite examples of how to make sequels. Finding Dory was pretty great, but if Pixar isn't really your thing, you might not feel the same way. Independence Day though was terrible. Whooooooo boy was it not good. The first movie is by no ways a masterpiece, but as I said a few posts back, it's an entertaining, fun watch. This movie was just bafflingly terrible. I'm not sure how much better it would have been with Will Smith in it, but it couldn't have been any worse. Without spoiling anything, it just missed the mark in a lot of ways, and in ways that if they paid any attention at all to the first movie, they wouldn't have missed. There are a scant few moments that aren't just terrible, but by and large, this was a thoroughly underwhelming movie, just as I thought/feared it would be.

I love catching classic movies on the big screen. Carolina Theater in Greensboro does this as well.

Have you guys seen this one? It's a few years old but it has been on Starz or Showtime this month. It is hilarious!!! Loosely based on the Johnny Cash story Walk the Line.

Great movie, very underrated. John C. Reilly is such a great actor. The scene where Tim Meadows offers him pot is one of my favorite comedy scenes in recent years. Tim is coming to my town to do a standup show in January, I can't wait.

Oh Lordy I know it. I found it hilarious how they were deliberately pointing how it's ridiculous for it to be illegal in that very subtle way lol
