Usually what you see on recruiting websites is a pretty good reflection of at least where a prospect stands in the recruiting world but sometimes a player slips through the cracks.

Destrehan, La., receiver John Williams may fall into the latter exception category, not because of a low ranking -- he hasn't yet been ranked. But he's got 13 offers and is only now starting to be known as a recruit. Previously he was off the radar because by his own admission he really didn't do much to get his name out there.

Arizona State is a school that has his full attention because they were his first Power Five offer and recruited him as far back as two years ago. He'll visit the school this summer.

But Williams also has an offer from North Carolina and the Tar Heels are trying hard to have some say in where he ends up. Gunter Brewer has initiated contact via Twitter to begin a dialogue and Larry Porter, whose Louisiana connections are obvious, stopped by Destrehan -- a school that always has talent - to pass along word of the offer. No plans to visit UNC yet, but based on how he talked last night if Arizona State doesn't scoop him up on that visit then UNC could become a real factor.
