...and I'm gonna start with some stuff I didn't like

- Hicks with 3 fouls in the first 5 minutes? Seriously?

- Loose balls. Gotta do a better job of snatching the ball instead of just getting a hand on it. Can't say State wasn't trying in this game because they battled for 50/50 balls, but still...

- Our Bigs started out like they'd forgotten that teams like to ball-screen... enabled at least 10 of Smith's points. Took til the under-8 in the first half to get that mess straight.

- we also had 12 Blown Assists in the first half alone --- the good news is we only had 3 in the second. Also botched 9 transition opportunities.

OK... the good stats
- Scored 51 in the first half (hmmm... that number sounds familiar :D) and 97 for the game despite JJ being cold from outside, and somehow the zebras deeming us only worthy of 8 FTs (again, seriously?)

- Speaking of FTs it was good to see Tony go 4/4.

- 5 guys in double figures, even with Hicks short-timing it tonight. Strong game by big Kennedy with 17 and 8 + 3 Assists.

- Maybe --- just maybe --- one day some fans will figure out that Luke Maye can play at the ACC level and play well. 13 and 7 and kept us from missing Hicks.

- Vintage efficient game from Berry --- 18 pts on 7/11 shooting and 4/8 from 3, and despite somehow not getting to the damned line. Hell, there was one late first-half possession that he got just blatantly body-blocked --- twice --- right in front of the zebras and nada. That sh**'s getting old.

other stuff
- Kudos to Buckets for not letting poor shooting affect his game. To his credit he kept taking good shots (without forcing) and got rewarded later.

- I figured DSJr would come out and try to prove something. He's a marvelous talent, and our sleep on ball-screens and some bail-out calls aided and abetted his early escapades, but all the forcing caught up with him, and JB went full dog on him in the second half and from that point on DS only got 2 pts with Joel guarding him.Telling moment late when Dennis forces a bad 3 and Nate (who was guarding him then) just runs out for a snowbird off the rebound.

- Speaking of JB, dog had 6 Dimes, 3 Steals and caused 3 more TOs in his 31 minutes.

- Finally, referencing that sketchy thread on Rowan from this week, Mav can't guard his momma. Theo used him like a vending machine rubber, and could just take it in for a lay-up when he felt like it.

I left out the paint numbers because, hell, it was a given with them going small. We took care of business and beat State twice by a total of 75 points. Sadly this is tempered by Kenny getting scoped. Damn. We just can't have nice things this season.

With anything REMOTELY like decent officiating we would have beaten the woofies by 50 plus again. This crew SUCKS!

I dislike DSJ's game immensely, he cannot handle the ball without frequent egregious carries and traveling. If the refs even approached holding him the same diluted rules everyone else is called by he would have 15-20 TOs per game from carrying and traveling alone. Can't wait for his sorry ass to take that garbage to the NBA where it belongs.

Solid game by Luke Maye, but I know you haters are gonna say it wasn't against ACC Level competition - And dammit, you're RIGHT! :D

Yep. Luke can ball and thank heavens we have him.

I didn't see this one, hate those ACCN mid week games because sometimes they do carry them here and some times they don't, they didn't this one. So I have to rely on what I can glean from comments and the box score.

But other than Hicks, got to say, I like what I see int eh box score other than the 3pt shooting %. Few things do jump out for me, first Meeks with 3 dimes, Theo with 4, Joel with 6! Make that extra pass, share the ball, pound it to the big men, Joel with 6 assists is more along the lines of what I want to see from my UNC PG.

Rebounds we won 41 to their 25, we shot 56% for the game so there is not going to be a ton of offensive rebounds to be had but we did pull 18 offensive to limiting them to 9.

Hicks picks up 3 fouls in the first 5mins, right off the top I have to ask why in the blue blazes is Hicks in the game to be able to pick up a 3rd foul in the first 5 mins? With Hicks in that foul trouble and limited to playing only 7min, Tony only gets 17 mins? Yeah, seems like Luke and Meeks had solid games but that what in the heck has the kid got to do to get 20mins a game? I mean 2-4 from the field, 4-4 from the line, 5 rebounds and a block and an assist?

OK, Joel, now that is more what I want to see, 7-11, 50% on treys, 6 dimes, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, Joel was there to play, figured he would be cause he sure was not happy after that duke game. Luke 6-11 for 13 total, 7 rebounds and I love 4 of them being offensive. Kinda surprised I don't see an assist for him on at least 1 of his patented kick back out to a open spot up shooter assists?

Theo, 4-6 from the field, 4 dimes, a couple rebounds and a steal from the swiss army knife. Theo is going to get more of a path to the rim on those drives because folks now have to respect his passing. Play him pass first he will score on ya, play him score first he will pass on ya, hard to guard.

Justin, 6-16 is a bit of an off night but I am ok with that, those will happen, 16 shots is a good number for him IMO. 3 boards (2 offensive) couple assists and a steal, not bad for an off game.

Defensively held them to 44% over all and 33% from the trey so that isn't bad over all, Dennis Smith is a heck of a weapon but not one that will beat you by himself and from the number of foul shots he got looks like maybe he was bailed out on a few? WE run up 97 on ya and you only shoot paltry numbers like that then you get re-introduced to the woodshed and your coach works on his resume for his next gig! LOL

They almost always show it live on ESPN, so you can watch it online or from a mobile device. I was watching it on my phone last night.

I added the ACCND channel and a version of ESPN to my Roku last night, thinking I may be able to pick it up on one of those in a day or so. Was hoping I could pick up the ESPN Ap from my streaming selections on Roku but could not find it, the ESPN thing I was able to add didn't not have ESPN3 streaming.

Did you use the ESPN app or the watch ESPN app? The watch ESPN app is the one you need. Some of the internet providers don't work with watch ESPN, so that might have been what happened.

Zebras bailed Smith out a LOT, more 'n you'd think - A looooot. I thought I was watching Dwayne Wade vs The Mavericks in game 5 of the 2006 NBA Finals.

He wasn't. He picked up 2 fouls in the first 4 min, sat for 5 min or so, came back in and quickly got his 3rd. Sat till the second half where he picks up #4.
