Stats and stuff (State game)...

Just as "great" insight as the geniuses pointing out his shot looks bad in his first game back after not playing for 9 months. Pinsons shot never has looked great but to just jump on that after he takes two fricken shots after not playing for 9 months is retarded.

Has not played in 9mo, how ever he worked on his shooting all off season and was not hurt until we had begun practice for this season. There has been an ongoing discussion of how much Theo's shooting had improved, many saying it had drastically improved since last season. That is actually no surprise to you either, just as your repeated attempts to snipe at me surprises no one. My comment was simply to say that I did not see the improvement but maybe his not shooting much since early Nov explains why it was not great yesterday.

Maybe heelbent can explain why calling what other folk have to say retarded is not being the citizen that is needed on a forum like this. By all means tell Jim how retarded he is, let us all know how that works out for ya...

Calling your comment "retarded" is not me calling you as an individual "retarded". Theres a difference. Try not to be so thin skinned.Trying to hide behind whoever Jim is means absolutely nothing to me, and I am appalled at your ineptitude at just stating your own thoughts without using someone else as your shield.

Having said that, I just thought it was weak to call out Theo's shot after all the time not playing. Your love for williams is great and all, but jumping to conclusions on wether theo's shot has or has not improved based on two shots after no game time in 9 months is asinine. It appears you were just chomping at the bit to say "I told you so" and wouldve probably said his form sucks even if he went 3/3 from on his shots.

Using "retarded" as an insult at all is so middle school.

It wasnt really an insult in the truest sense of the word. But Perhaps a bit harsh on my part, however discourse here rarely goes beyond middle school level, so it doesnt really phase me.

And thinking we need someone to tell us that he's missed every game so far is stupid. To jump on every post that irks you a little is childish and silly...but that doesn't stop you from getting a cheap shot in far too often.

Back off the hostility a little.

Thanks for the report Gary... took me a couple of days to get to watching the replay and it sure was purdy!
First half D was terrific, starters looked a little distracted to start the second and they also fell a little too much in love with the 3 ball.
Bilas was very defensive of the hard end-of-game fouls, saying it's to be expected, part of the game, etc. But it looked like the Moo forwards were getting a bit goon-ish. The take-downs on 7th and Stillman weren't really necessary and Abu looked like he was just pushing out of frustration under the basket... mostly on Maye and Tony.

Have to laugh at the late-game fast break the Heels gave up..... it wasn't a fast break, Anya was just 90 feet behind the play cause he couldn't get back!

Yeah Oz, I was not happy with the two hard fouls at the end of the game. Stilman and 7th could have easily been hurt. They were losing by 50 points so at that point, those fouls were due to frustration, not an effort to win the game. Bush league antics by them. Fork the Fack!

Kid has some natural athletic ability, he is just very, very raw skill-wise. How much he develops down the road remains to be seen, but I'm pulling for him to do so.

Yeah, we see glimpses of greatness and then a WTH moment tends to soon follow. When 7th was in I kept saying, please don't turn it over, please let this stint be marked by good play and not have the final part of it once again over shadow the good stuff. Glad to see he didn't turn it over and really hope this game can be his turning point.

I know many are not as high on 7th as I am and especially as a PG, I just think this kid has all the tools, has even more than most actually. You can't make some of those passes we have seen from the kid, you can pull off off the charts moves like that behind the back and not see this kid has the tools. Roy shares with us that this kid actually has TY Lawson like speed with the ball and we have seen that at times, he can be a one man fast break even off a made shot.

It is confidence that he is struggling with, he got off to a slower start due to some nagging injury and just seems to have been behind and struggling to catch up ever since. This kid will find his comfort level and when he does his confidence will return, wait till you see this kid playing confident and not looking over his shoulder. It may be his soph season, kid needs the off season more than any kid I have seen in a long while, needs it to settle his head and realize how much he has already learned. This kid WILL star for us, wait and see!

I agree that 7th has boat loads of potential! I also believe that most of his issues stem from either a lack of confidence, worry about making mistakes, and still learning our system. The game seems to be slowing down bit and his talent si starting to peek through in spurts. He is firmly slotted at point and with our upcoming recruits, the wing will stay full so this is his best option here and in the pros! I feel that he is on the verge of a breakthrough, and I hope it happens by the end of this season. (In the Tourney would be nice!)

He has a world of talent, no doubt. This was the first game where he looked halfway comfortable out there. Hopefully, it's a sign that things are beginning to slow down a bit for 7th. He needs to focus on making the high percentage play and curtail the flashy low percentage plays. He's trying so hard, perhaps a little too hard at times. But in time, I think he'll be a very good player.

The moo starters shouldn't have still been in the game.

I hope this is true. Was he a pretty good shooter in high school? He has a ton of pure athletic gifts, but right now pure shooting touch/form doesn't seem to be one. At least on FTs his shooting form seems pretty crooked, broken. I assume that would be the #1 thing for him to work on in the next year, even if it means starting from scratch in shooting form, rebuilding it, and taking thousands of shots.

He just can't be a serviceable PG IMO, if nobody has to guard him as a legit threat from the perimeter, and if he's not a 70%+ minimum FT shooter, including in end of game close game situations.
