McGuire had been Baylor's Associate HC who coached both TEs and DEs. How could he be a quality position coach on both sides of the ball at the same time? He came to Baylor under Matt Rhule as a legendary TX HS coach. Guys who coach HS and have success often are much better rounded, jack of all trades football coaches than are guys who spend their entire time in the coaching profession at the college level.
