On the hire and the process...

Watching the press conference today introducing Hubert makes me think it will be hard for parents of his recruiting targets not to be won over in a very short time. Who would not want Hubert to take care of his kid during his college days?

I think that is where the mindset has changed. It used to be that mom and dad looked for that coach/environment that would help their child grow and develop on and of the court. The college coach was a seen as continuing the parenting role, That has changed. Now, for the top recruits and their parents at least, it's more how can you get my child to the league. Coach Smith excelled because the family environment was not a ploy or a gimmick to use, it was how he ran his program. Parents realized he would be there for their child in the role of a parent. College for too many is seen as a two year max experience.
