The Best Rap

Then I gotta give some love to Eminem with a trio of hits (and working Dre back in the mix in case anyone forgot about him)

I know some may not like him, but I still have love for Kanye, and this is one that I really love

Celph Titled, aka The Rubix Cuban, aka, The Cuban Missle Crisis

Best line from this song:
“If you approach, I’ll murder though
My guns flip more shells than the ninja turtle show.
This is my movie in 3D, slice your neck with a Fugees CD
And stick Lauren Hill with the coroner bill.”

Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks

Best line:
“The only time beef is mentioned ‘round me is for steak sauce.”

with a Fugees CD
That made me think of this

I've been listening to this guy for a few years. He has some really solid skills.

Well, time for me to get back in this thread. We'll start with some Eazy-E

Have you ever heard Dynamite Hack's version? The video is so great.

As far as Straight Outta Compton, my favorite was Parental Discretion because of Eazy's rap and because the D.O.C. made an appearance.

I knew Eazy was the backbone of NWA back in the day but I didn't know to what extent until the movie came out. He wasn't the best rapper but his songs were entertaining. Eazy Does It had some real gems. This was my favorite:

and this i also likey

eta: rip mca...still on every workout or run mix i have...man i miss them.

Great choices. I'll add these:

As for the Beasties, you can go with anything on Paul's Boutique (and License to Ill). But outside of those two albums, I'd have to say I love the Root Down EP most.

Eric B and Rakim are going to be in Raleigh on April 19 at The Ritz.

Guess who else will be there....ME!!!!

Big Daddy Kane and Naughty By Nature are coming to Lynchburg, VA for our summer concert series down by the river. I'll be there. Last year we had P-Funk and Blues Traveler among others. We're starting to get some cool artist even if they are years past their prime.

Taking back to the 80s and 90s, who remembers DJ Quik? He was originally part of AMC who did the song, "Bitch Better Have My Money." But then he went solo and had some good stuff.

Here's one he did with Dre.

Ya'll probably know Del The Funky Homosapien. He's been involved in a bunch of different projects (solo, Gorillaz, Hieroglphics, toured with Ice Cube's Lench Mob). I really like Deltron 3030.

Minnesota based rap duo Atmosphere is a group that I like but my buddy clowns me and says they're whack.

I mentioned Celph Titled earlier in this thread. Here's a song he does with Apathy - another member of The Demigodz and Army of The Pharaohs. This song is produced by Gang Starr's DJ Premier.

I basically poasted the above song just for a good segue to poast some songs from my favorite rap group ever - Gang Starr. Moment of Truth is my favorite rap album of all time. Here's a taste.

But Moment of Truth isn't the only good album they had. This one is off Daily Operation.

And GURU did a solo project called Jazzmatazz. Do yourself a favor and get the two first Jazzmatazz albums.

Big L with a fresh freestyle right here. More people would remember him had he not gotten shot and been around longer to produce more music.
