Seriously? You all are putting your faith in a virtue signalling Swedish teenager who doesn't even know how to levy an argument? Really?... After decades of failed predictions, you are now subjugated to using ignorant, easily manipulated teenagers?

Most of us base our beliefs on scientific studies which overwhelmingly show that man-made climate change is real. What's funny is the fact that these "ignorant, easily manipulated teenagers" are more grounded and more intelligent than your stupid ass.

I'm not against being responsible in regards to the Earth, but too many of these climate change people are out of their mind. It's more about power than it is about a threat.

This coming from an idiot that also put his faith in Al Gore....and Noir has the audacity to call someone else a stupid ass....look on the mirror chump!!!!

. . . too many of these climate change people are out of their mind.
The sense of panic and urgency of some people, at least in this country, is the result of our current president and like-minded leaders not only denying climate change but their refusal to do anything about it.

Lib's are such hypocrites......are you typing this post on your stone Noir or are you using your computer, or maybe your iPhone? You enjoy watching all of those Carolina games on your flat screen? I bet you really enjoyed your AC this summer didn't you! How long of a commute do you have to work in your nice car? But I am going to lecture you on the supposed science of climate change which Al Gore said would end the world 20 years ago. Climate change is the same BS science as the 54 genders that you believe in!

Fixed it for you. They were predicting 40 years ago that we were going into another ice age. Then Gore made millions predicting the east coast would be under water 20 years ago. Now any adverse weather is being blamed on mankind under the guise of “climate change”.

Weather is cyclical, period. The climate industry is a multi-billion industry. It is agenda driven and based entirely on computer modeling with a very small data sample size. The hockey stick graph is known to be erroneous, based on selective data.

The vast majority of all scientific theories espoused by our leading scientists have eventually been proven false. The earth is flat, the sun revolves around the earth, etc... never forget that scientific theories are nothing more than our best guesses, given the current “knowledge”. And never forget that scientists are just as susceptible to the power or money as anyone else.

You're actually comparing today's scientific findings with the archaic beliefs held widespread in bygone civilizations? That is absurd. Just so you know, it was generally philosophers who propagated the flat-Earth theories while astronomers (read: scientists) were the ones introducing the spherical-Earth reality to mankind.

Here’s the way I see it:

If we get serious about climate change and people who believe climate change is real are wrong, the cost is just us simply doing some things that may be a bit more inconvenient and cost us a bit of money.

If we ignore it and the people who think it’s fake are wrong, the cost is millions of lives and recent estimates say 10% of US GDP in damage by 2100.

Soooo, I’m cool with playing it safe and making some changes.

Yeah, you could talk about the money. Money and power kind of go hand and hand.

You can't blame Trump for hysterical behavior. First off, this behavior was prevalent way before he became president, second off... we're all responsible for our own actions. You can't break the law and then blame it on someone else.

And, imagine if the actual science is incorrect by underestimating it? It would be quite a substantial purge of the human species. I am always considering the possibility that the Earth/Nature/Universe is juuuust about ready for the humanity curtain-call. So much potential, so much wasted!

That's not what he's talking about. He's talking about anyone going against the status quo as being castigated. It's the same power play that the Catholic church played against people like Galileo. Look, if you feel you're in the right, there's no reason to attempt the total destruction of people who oppose you. If you believe you're in the right, you'll be more than happy to debate those who believe you are wrong.

However, that isn't what is going on with climate change. You don't see many debates on climate change. What you see is the attempt to completely destroy anyone who doesn't believe in climate change...arguments be damned. That process isn't good for a free society, no matter what you are discussing.

You don't even want to discuss the science.

I've heard this same argument from religious fundamentalists. They tell me, "If there's no God, but I live a good life, then I've just lived a good life. However, if I live a bad life and there is a God, then I burn in hell."

It's not a real solid argument, brutha.

It’s not an argument, it’s stating how I feel about it.

It's still an argument. You can't give your opinion, about another opinion, and then claim it isn't an argument. You made your argument, I made an argument against that argument. It is what it is. It doesn't mean either of us are bad people. Its just two people having a discussion.

one of my favorite posts ever! so well said - and true. global warming has created more hypocrites than any other political topic.

But he posted 2 videos about science that no one watched so technically I think that qualifies him.
Or just a South Park meme.

When I first read the OP, I was thinking, "Who are you talking about? And, who are you talking TO?" It really is a shame that this board is his only outlet... or, seems to be only outlet

I can't answer that question, but I always get a chuckle out of some of the opinions in this type of thread.
Yea me too, the left is absolutely nuts! Climate change is gonna end the world in 12 years and we have to do something about it (all the while doing nothing about it other then bitch and moan), there are 54 different genders and you can be what you want to be no matter what you got between the ole legs, elected AOC, willing to listen to a 16 year old and treat her as an "expert"...some of the opinions are flat out crazy from these folks!!!

To be fair, the far end of both political parties are pretty nuts.
That was what I was saying. You really don't need to look any farther than this thread for proof. I just didn't want to get more specific, because I didn't want to be drawn into this "debate." I'm sure people will try to do it though.

Climate change is real. Its scientific fact. Those denying it belong in the same category as flat earthers, 9/11 truthers, pizza gaters, young earth creationists, and com trail conspiracists. I think reasonable people can disagree on the extent that its caused by our irresponsibility but to deny its real paints you as a some sort of science denying religious **** nut or political party partisan sheep.

Pizza gate? Do tell.

Pizza gate? Do tell.

There is a theory that the washington dc “elite” led by....of course...the clintons...run a pedophaelia ring out of the basement of a pizza shop in dc. Supposedly some of their logos and “hidden menu” items painted the picture. So much so that a couple yrs ago a guy went there waving a gun demanding someone let him in the basement to free the kids. It had died down some but The weinstein story gave it whole new life.

If the repub party and/or the christian religion and leaders claimed the earth was flat there is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that nearly all repubs and christians would as well. The only reason they dont is because its not the “official position” of either. Al gore made climate change a political issue and thats the worst thing coulda happened for the issue and the planet. But it doesnt excuse the sheer stupidity and mind numbing dumbfukery of the partisan idiots on both sides who refuse to believe science and reason and instead stake their claim, as with so many other issues, based solely on whether or not it benefits their bull shit party.

And yes the dems and liberals display the same sort of stupidity on several issues as well.

I had to look-up "young earth creationism." I had never heard of it. What a fun topic! Henry Morris... what a guy. And, that discovery turned into learning about even more variations of creationism- Old Earth Creationism, Progressive Creationism, etc.. I'm relieved there are, as expected, different versions to choose from and believe.

Check out ken ham, a creation evangelist and the guy that built the ark replica in ky. What a hoot. He straight up tells ya the universe is 6000 yrs old, there were dinosaurs on the ark, mt everest was underwater during noah, and if u dont believe it then well....you’re in disobedience to god and subject to his wrath.

Well... My understanding of God isn't gender-based, so "he" will have to go ahead an unleash the wrath, I guess. That doesn't sound like God to me, anyway. Sounds like a person's vengeful nature.

I read that people who are creationists and "flirt with scientific reality" are also inviting a theological breakdown. Seems like the "Theistic Evolution" group is trying to allow science and the ancient patriarchal "God" work in conjunction, somehow. It's an interesting variety of belief systems.

I was looking on Google maps, recently, to the small NC town in which I grew up (Nashville). The main street still looks like most southern towns. You can still see the pre-war remnants. Anyway, I saw this mural that is now on the side of the end of the street buildings:

I guess this offers comfort for some people. But... I dunno. It just seems delusional to me. Now, I have had many Southern Baptists that will say "Well, we say He, but we don't believe He means a male." And, to that I say, "Then call God a She and see what happens." Of course, that evokes a look of "Are you crazy? The Bible says God is a He." ... I rest my case.

I think you've read way more into this thread than I intended. I've never once on here said that I don't believe in climate change. I have my issues with some of it, but I've never denied anything. The premise of this thread was real. I know you're a huge Simpsons fan, so I'll just end with this meme:

This sounds like you're trying to make yourself out to be important because I drive by here once a day.
