The Dookies get flushed !

I have a beer with dook fans regularly. Most are good people but it can get heated when we discuss/watch sports.

Same here. And I enjoy the banter.

That said, it's obviously easier to get heated and argue with people who you know because there's still friendship beyond the rivalry. Doing it with strangers on a message board doesn't usually lead to anything productive.

I have no qualms about catching heat here.......it's expected. I do try and be respectful and mainly just come to talk about recruiting. I am a "recruiting junkie" and like to hear what opposing fan bases (UNC, UK, etc.) are hearing regarding certain players.

But I'm a coach so I have thick skin to begin with, so a few internet jabs don't really bother me.
That's exactly the approach to have when using anonymous internet sites, Coach. Personally, I enjoy your insight. I give Tru and Boogie a hard time sometimes, but I think they're good people. I think most of the people on DI are probably pretty good people. There are nut cases there just like there are here. Go to RR or PP and you will see the inmates actually run the asylum on those sites. So I take every thing I read on message boards with a Rhino skin and a huge grain of salt.

Most of the dook fans that post here are pretty respectful. I, for one, like the friendly banter. Contrary to what a lot of posters on DI think, I don't dislike your school, I simply don't like K. Much like Bobby Knight, I admire his coaching ability and accomplishments but don't care for the man himself. I've met him twice and my opinion didn't change. I can admire Allen's ability but not like the person. I've known many dook fans who couldn't stand Dean.

That's fandom for you and that's fine. But in the big picture, sports doesn't mean diddly squat. We have more things in common than we don't. But fan is short for fanatical and our allegiances cause us to be irrational at times. Keep posting here, Coach. I don't always agree but I do more often than not.

Couldn't agree more, buddy.

I am very good people and many people think that =)

listen fellow Duke fans, a Carolina poster could die, go to heaven and see K there, and that poster still will believe K is a POS and may even confront God about it.

Sure I went to the extreme but I think the point is made which is probably the most important factor at this point. Iol

Your comments remind me of the latest joke going around about K-Rat. A lot of people don't know that K was a pretty good college baseball pitcher in his day. K had tied John Wooden record for NCAA titles at age 80 and was making a run to break Wooden's record the following year. Duke had just received the #1 seed in the East and was ranked #1 and undefeated that year. K bumped in his old college baseball friend (Joe) at a local restaurant before the first NCAA game. They chatted for hours, had a few drinks and talked about how they dominated other schools with their pitching dominance in those days. K-Rat made one wish before they departed the restaurant. K-Rat said " Joe, I hope that when we are in heaven you and I are the best pitchers on the best team in heaven". Joe died a few days later before Duke played their first NCAA game. K was eating his pre-game meal before the first NCAA game and he heard this voice.

The man said "K, this is Joe and I'm just enjoying heaven"! I have some good news and bad news for you". K-Rat asked Joe..."What is the good news?" Joe said.." The good news is that heaven is just great and pitching for this great baseball team here in heaven is everything I dreamed of!.

Then K-Rat asked .."What is the bad news"? Joe said..."You are scheduled to pitch tomorrow".

Ha ha ha I like that one Steat and Archer thank you. I try to be a good guy as often as possible. I post here more than DI, although I started posting on DI more often as of late. When I first learned of the comments by Kyrie my first thought was "I should post this on THR" lol I can imagine Archer going after me already "get out of here with your propoganda" lol one of the mods on DI said "why bother" in response to me saying I was going to post Kyrie's comments. My close to exact words were "I honestly have a good time over there." Which I do. I'm the kind of guy that when I played sports in my younger days I enjoyed away games more.
