This dude is throwing gas on the fire (cultural appropriation speech)

Are you kidding me? The guy had gone on multiple racist and homophobic tirades on social media before the incident. This is all very well documented. You can choose to ignore his racist history just like you choose to ignore your own. Doesn't change the fact that it's still there.
Piss on you, you miserable excuse for a human. Stand in front of me and call me a racist and I'll feed you my left hand.

pack a lunch the wait will be long line and wait..

you say my words tell you how gullible, ditzy, liberal, confused I am..... maybe so but you know what???? a couple of you should probably not speak like you do in front of any women.... they will see right through your uptight butts and know all they need to know as well! ;) Y'all must be a barrel of fun!

DFP needs some lovin'... bad. Dude's anger level is always set on "Sith." If you wanna prove you're not a racist... punch someone in the face. Everybody knows that.

I don't have to, nor do I want to prove anything to you. I'm not the one that called someone a racist with no basis in fact. I have no anger problems, I just intensely dislike smarmy little pissants like the two of you casting aspersions that they can't back up. I'm just saying he wouldn't have the stones to say that to my face, but he's very courageous behind his mommy's keyboard. And piss on you too.

You would be surprised how many sensible women that there are out there.

Sounds almost as stupid as: "Can't win an argument? Call someone a racist."
I think that is actually "Can't win an argument, cast an insult." Racist is seen as an insult sometimes. But, you could use idiot, fool, moron, dumbass etc., and still show that you have no retort... just anger and insult. Idiot, moron, fool are all indistinct (although there may be an official hierarchy somewhere for them). But, "Racist" is distinct. A racist is a specific thing. I think everyone is racist and tribal to some extent. We're all taught that from birth, on some level. Some of us are more racist and tribal than others. Some of us deny it, some of us embrace it, some of us work to erase it from ourselves. The ones that embrace it and are proud of it tend to be seen as really racist by everyone else.

Sure, yes - casting an insult is the broader description, and in this particular case uncboy chose calling someone a racist as his insult.

The thing I find the most comical/ironic is that the people who call others racist (even when there's really no evidence to support that) are generally the ones that are in favor of affirmative action, The Rooney rule in the NFL, voting for Obama strictly because "its about time we had a black president" and other policies that are themselves racist by definition.

Everyone is racist? Did you mean to say prejudice?
Both. But, I see the separation you're going for. I believe there is a difference between those two variables, too. It's hard to explain it, though. "Racial" can be benign. "Racist" and "Racism" is pretty much always derogatory.

Yeah, to me, that's racist. To me, it also lacks very much thought and consideration of the office and just focuses on their ethnicity.

I think things like the NAACP, the United Negro College Fund, the BET, and any other Black-Only institution were, at one time, very necessary. People of African descent were simply unable to get an equal shake in the white-dominated society. If I look at it objectively, I see that and know it to be true. But, at some point, the institutions work to keep the races "different." And, different is very hard to be considered "equal" in most human mindsets.

Sensible to him is someone who agrees with HIM.... because I agree with you on several things I am not sensible.... his opinion, of course. I'll say this... If he has a woman, he might want to do whatever it takes to keep her if he likes having her around lol
Well, that's pretty much everyone's idea of sensible, I guess.

Getting back to the topic, directly; The guy is clearly angry that white people have taken "his culture" and mimicked it. To me, in the context of art and expression, I would see that as an amazing compliment and I would also be very happy that ALL people were able to find pleasure and inspiration from my music, or poetry, or art, or whatever it might be. In fact, that is what gave the guy his stage to shake his fist at the white man. If only black people liked what he did, he wouldn't have made much of an impact on society. I don't mean that "only appealing to black people" is bad (or good, or otherwise). I'm saying that if you cross all cultural, ethnic, national, religious boundaries and appeal to all people, you've done something pretty amazing. To have that happen and then be angry at the "groups" you don't like because they try to mimic it seems strange to me.

We should all just be angry at those dirty Jews who exploit it and make the money from selling it, and making it popular. Amiright?

Oh **** here you go with your philosophical/sociological bull shat.

I think it's a hell of a lot more than my opinion or are you not paying attention again?

Ahh, the herd dictates what is sensible. Until one from the herd does something different and makes another say: "Hey! That's not a bad idea." And, then another, and another, and the herd becomes different from what it once was. Which was more sensible, the old or the new? See how you're learning about the existence of the relative?

Don't get me started on the Rooney Rule. That edict (or whatever you wanna call it) is disgustingly insulting to minorities and whites all at the same time.

yeah it's called democracy.

I'd never heard of the Rooney Rule until today. I had to look it up. I'm just not sold on people being told they have to do it a certain way and given no other choice. People, especially in America, do NOT like to be told to do it a certain way, and ONLY that way, or else you're going to pay.

I think that is what made the Civil War actually happen. Maybe I'm being too idealistic and optimistic (as usual). But, I like to believe that the South would have eventually freed the slaves and it would have been a much less costly endeavor on the lower class culture of southern society. It would have also benefited the African slaves, especially in the long term. although, hindsight is 20/20, of course. When they became the scapegoats for the hundreds of thousands of lost sons, and the total destruction of their entire world, ALL the whites suddenly had a rancor and hatred toward them that hadn't existed before. I've had people tell me that slavery needed to end as soon as possible. I agree. But, I don't think that war is really being understood and considered in the "as possible" part of that statement. I think that war did more to keep blacks in an inferior place in society than if it had just shifted like it had in the North. Making people do things by force only creates more resistance. When they collectively decide "Yeah... that's the best way." Then you have no resistance at all.

I'm being too idealistic as usual.

yeah it's called democracy.
So, when everyone else thinks a certain way, then you're on board? You leave the "being different" stuff up to the others. Once it's acceptable, then it's a good idea for you, too. That's called obedience. We need that, too.

Agreed. I think it's just stupid in principle. I would hope that teams interview the best candidates for the job - regardless of skin color. If a team feels that they've interviewed the best candidate for the job, and he happens to be white - they then need to waste everyone's time by just going through the motions on interviewing a minority candidate. They waste their own time because they already have their hire picked - and they waste the minority candidate's time because they have no intention of hiring him anyways.

Also - if there are organizations out there that are actually racist to the point that they would prefer a crappier white coach to a superior minority coach - why would you want to subject the minority coach to their racism by forcing them to meet with him? And if those are their views - they deserve to get the crappier coach and continue to suck.

Plus - I'd argue that the Rooney rule makes it less likely that a minority coach gets hired. The teams will say "oh ya, we're just bringing this guy in to satisfy the Rooney Rule" - which automatically puts him behind the 8-ball in that the interviewers aren't giving him a fair shake from the get go.

I would hope that, by now, owners, GM's, etc., are more interested in winning with the best person in charge instead of winning with the best WHITE person in charge. Winning is what counts in football. Well, selling tickets and merchandise is what counts, but winning definitely helps.

I never said it was a good idea......I didn't vote for Obama or Clinton either time.
