Okay, we've seen a quarter of the season and we're starting to get an idea of what this teams' strengths and weaknesses are. With what you've seen in the first three contests, predict our record for the remaining nine games. Go game by game please if you don't mind.

What y'all got?

10/29 (Thurs.) AT Pittsburgh
11/7: Duke

My opinion on the season hasn't changed. We'll win between 7-9 games depending on what happens against Pitt, Miami, and Moo U. I'm maybe a bit more bullish than at the start of the season based on the injuries at Pitt and VT.

I actually typed it all out but then deleted it. So now you should post 3 angry emojis.

It's pretty simple, really. We're going to lose between 2 and 4 more games. I feel like the road games against the Techs are Ls with possibly two more losses from among Pitt, Miami, and Moo U.

Touche. I will amend original post.
thanks...

W 9/26: Delaware
L 10/3: AT Georgia Tech
10/10: BYE
W 10/17: Wake Forest
W 10/24: Virginia
L 10/29 (Thurs.) AT Pittsburgh
W 11/7: Duke
W 11/14: Miami
L 11/21: AT Virginia Tech
W 11/28: AT MooU

6-3 finish leaves us 8-4 overall (5-3) in the conference.... sounds like a broken record.
If we do that and win a bowl game, 9-4 isnt too shabby, but dayum should've beat SCar and end up with 10 wins.

Impossible to do objectively but I'll give it a shot.

W 9/26: Delaware (we better win this)
L 10/3: AT Georgia Tech (no way we beat them 2 years in a row and in Atlanta, pray that I am wrong)
10/10: BYE
W 10/17: Wake Forest (too much talent difference to lose this)
W 10/24: Virginia (we take care of business at home)
W 10/29 (Thurs.) AT Pittsburgh (Switzer will run another back up there)
W 11/7: Duke (you misspelled it, should be dook)
L 11/14: Miami (team gets overconfident after 4 wins in a row)
W 11/21: AT Virginia Tech (bounce back against sandman)
L 11/28: AT MooU (Ugh, Ron Cherry probably officiating also)

8-4. Hopefully wrong about the losses and right about the wins. We have been snakebit forever and are way past due for a positive run

Ws- Delaware

Should Win- WFU, UVa, @ Pitt, dook

Toss Ups- Miami, @ VaTech, @ MooU

60/40 Loss- @ GaTech

Figure we go 1-2 in the Toss Ups, and come up short at GaTech.

8-4, 5-3 ACC. But 9-3 isn't a real stretch. Neither is 7-5.

DEL - WIN
GT - LOSS
BYE - TOSS UP
WAKE - WIN
UVA - WIN
PITT - WIN
DUKE - WIN
MIAMI - LOSS
VT - LOSS
BAKERY - LOSS

I don't know what game, but I am fairly confident UNC will lose one the games from Wake to Duke just because that is what UNC does.

You don't seem to have much confidence in our team and it's understandable considering our history. I think we'll beat NVSU and Miami, with losses to both the Techs.

I just get tired of being so disappointed. Last year did it for me. I will continue to cheer on the team and go to as many games as I can, but in the end, I expect the mediocrity to continue.

Had a tough time picking a loss between MIA or VT so I chose MIA as a toss up... I believe we will get better as the season goes on... by the time we get to MIA, VT and Moo I think we go 2-1 in that stretch. As far as GT, I think the fact the Chizik has been working on GT with the defense since the summer and still working on GT every week will be the difference maker in that win.

Not a fan of the staff publicizing the fact that we work a period weekly on GT. One, it is disrespectful to this week's opponent, Delaware....not that I think it'll matter, but I just choose to be respectful of all opponents (except MooU). Two, and more importantly, it gives SourPuss PJ ammo to use with his team..."you'd better come to work this week, men....UNC has been working on us all year. You gonna let them be more prepared than us?" - type stuff.

I like the extra work on GT; I just don't like letting it out that that is what we have been doing.

this happens everywhere...but i agree, why talk about it?

we are so much better up front than in years past that gatech doesn't concern me as much as they used to...i hope the guys just listen to their coach and read their keys...it's not hard to play against if you just do your job and not two other jobs.

I swear I'm not picking on you, just having discussions.

For one, Fedora was specifically asked about GT and if they were looking ahead. He said no and heaped praise upon Delaware. Then he was asked again, and still said no they aren't prepping for GT and instead do that on Sundays which isn't a day they work with the team. Who's to say that on the same Sundays they aren't looking closely at Brisett and MooU too? Or Voytik/Boyd and Pitt? Or Sirk and Duke? Or all the above.

I'm with you in the fact that generally I don't like disclosing much information but I mean come on, okay GT knows we've been gameplanning for them. Do you think they were thinking we weren't going to gameplan and just wing it? And the Orc Captain doesn't need any bulletin board material for the game against us. Their back-to-back losses to Duke and us ruined their shot at possible playoff contention. They want to beat us bad already.

Yes I was surprised that Fed let that one out... It adds pressure. We lose to GT and it will be "you guys put in all that work and still lost...". I just hope the work pays off. I'm getting my ticket since it will be my only chance to see the heels this year. 15 minute ride to Tech.

Fedora will never win with our fans. Too many people are dead set against him and nothing save a national championship will change their mind.

Which is totally reasonable by our fans....because, you know, our past few coaches have done SO well.

Its reasonable because the dude is an asshat who makes a handful of beyond stupid decisions that cost us games each year.

Eliminate one or the other and I am ok with him.

Fed gets criticized for his tight-lipped policy on injuries and also gets criticized for mentioning they spend time on GT outside game week. I'd probably feel badly for him if he weren't making millions.

This makes it even more frustrating. Why disclose something that really shouldn't be disclosed while acting like injuries are double top secret and not to even be acknowledged that they exist.

In the Monday presser I saw, Fed didn't bring it up. He was asked the question by a reporter there, and answered it honestly. He could have lied about it, I guess, but he himself didn't bring it up.

So he shouldn't say anything about game prep but should disclose all injuries? Think I disagree. Saying you're preparing for GT doesn't provide the opponent any competitive disadvantage. Revealing injuries could.

Fed is damn if you do and damn if you don't with some of the fans...Fact is I would not care if he told the local media a damn thing...I mean nothing at all...Just talk to THI and IC or Go Heels and tell the rest to piss off...

Revealing injuries does nothing- no one ever knows how quickly someone will heal or whether or not the trainer is exaggerating.

Saying you are looking ahead gives the team a sense that you are comfortable letting everyone else know that you don't believe the immediate opponent is worth 100% practice time. And for a coach who won't divulge a paper cut, the contradiction is stark.

I just hope we don't come out flat on Saturday

You don't really believe that, do you? If Marquise left the game with an undisclosed injury on Saturday 1, don't you think it would benefit the opponent's game preparation for Saturday 2 if Fedora announced Marquise was out with a sprained ankle? As opposed to not saying anything at all and the opponent thinking he was going to start?

Saying you are looking ahead gives the team a sense that you are comfortable letting everyone else know that you don't believe the immediate opponent is worth 100% practice time.
Prep for Georgia Tech started in the fall and has continued every Sunday. Prep for the upcoming opponent has always begun on Tuesday, so the limited time spent on GT two days prior does nothing to change that.

This Board has gone from GT running a grade school offense and Paul Johnson being over rated to Automatic loss.....

Fedora did the 180 degree opposite of what you're saying. He went out of his way to specify that the coaches are NOT looking ahead to GT during normal planning time. They are 100% focused on Delaware. The coaches just voluntarily spend Sunday -- a day where no work with the team is done -- doing extra planning for GT and their annoying offense.
