Tony Bradley played 9 minutes today

Yep. And Ga tech wasnt running the vaunted "4 out 1 in" that monmouth was so I cant really understand it.

How ironic considering the OP you made about quotes some posters made last February.

It's apparent as ever roys trying to hide him for next year. If tony were to leave our front court would be umm very bad to say the least.

What's ironic about it? I didn't say "I'm done with this team" or that we aren't any good.

I'm saying that Tony Bradley playing 9 minutes is an absolute joke and feeds into the notion that other coaches use against us that we don't use freshman. How does that have anything to do with the madness that was posted last February?

Don't make too much sense it'll only confuse people.

He seemed lost when he was out there. Everyone else did too though.

Even more important to play him when we're really struggling IMO. He draws fouls, we get to the free throw line... He can get offensive rebounds.... He wasn't really good today and wouldn't have been good if he played 20+ min IMO. We just didn't really have it today. But I think he needs to play a lot more than he does.

Oh the irony, the master of the overreactionary post starts a thread calling out others making the same kind of statements. You can't make this stuff up.

How exactly have I overreacted? I'm insanely positive about our team (except the Luke Maye is God conversations) and negative about our recruiting lately. Our play on the court lately (minus today) has been great and our recruiting has been bad. I'm missing where the overreaction is happening. Care to point out something specific?

Meeks and hicks are jokes. Meeks cannot jump over an ant hill and his hands are harder than a wedding d--k.
He used to throw a nice outlet pass but he has lost that all the while Bradley languishes on the bench for all the top recruits
Too see. Time to go ole
Roy

Beginning to think Bradley and Luke are our two best bigs. Meeks is the same old same old. I have no clue what the heck happened to hicks. He looks like freshman out there

We couldn't throw it in the ocean. We got about 20 more shots from the field, whereas they got about that many more FT's. We settled for threes against their zone, exactly what they wanted us to do. And we were as loose with the ball as I've seen in a long time. Perfect recipe for an upset.

We should have attacked the zone more but even when we did we often missed layups. If you don't make shots you lose. Despite all the other terrible things that happened, it still boils down to that. Most of the shots UNC had were good ones. That is 72 pretty good looks. They made 24 of them.

Note the thread you started titled "Best post of 2016"...

What's all this 'not playing freshman' talk? We don't have any freshman worth playing besides Bradley. Robinson and Seventh don't deserve playing time right now.

Bradly playing 9 minutes though? Ludicrous...especially since Luke Maye is just a body, Meeks jumps like my Grandma (doesn't have quite the body of her anymore though) and Hicks just hasn't been what he's supposed to be.

Play Joel, Kenny, Theo, JJ and Bradley 37 minutes. Losing to Ga Tech is embarrassing.

Let's see. Luke had 6 points, 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block in 11 minutes. Sounds pretty productive to me. But I guess he's "just a body". Sheesh!

And like 5 turnovers and got torched repeatedly on defense. But we won't mention that.

NEVER let the facts get in the way-here are the real numbers for both.

Luke with 6 pts 5 boards 1 block 1 steal and 2 turnovers in 11 min
Bradley with 0 pts 2 boards 0 blocks 0 steals and 0 turnovers in 9 min

Bradley also played spot minutes meaning he'd come in for a minute or two and come out without getting in any rhythm.

I honestly can't believe I'm having to argue the merits of Tony Bradley getting more minutes over Luke fricken maye, but I guess I'm not surprised. if you're really trying to argue that he shouldn't be based on today's stats, then that's just proof that some on this board have completely jumped the shark or have no idea anymore what a quality unc Basketball player looks like.

Come on man, WHO was better today in almost the same amount of time?

Did you just blatantly ignore that tony only got spot minutes like I explained?

Also, are you implying Roy should play guys based on who appears to be doing better that day? Do you feel that Luke overall deserves equal or more minutes than a potential first round draft pick? Honest questions because it seems that's what you are implying.

Regardless of what anyone says: recruits see this and opposing coaches use it as ammo against us. If you're a top 20 recruit and see Luke Maye getting more minutes than our 6'10 McDonald's all-American then what the heck would you think? Roy has been awarding seniority ever since he got here. It is what it is but rest assured it hurts recruiting and is used against us.

Not telling you anything except LOOK!

Roy makes the guys EARN their PT in practice, everybody knows that.

You can call it spot duty or anything you like. PT is PT.

There's nothing wrong with rewarding seniority when the two players are at least comparable talent wise.

But in this case it's absurdly apparent which one should be getting more time and I agree if I was a big time recruit and saw that I'd say thanks but no thanks.

I do wish to see more of Tony, but the fact is not every team we play will line up the same against our " 5 best" players. Lineups are very situational. Ya'll act surprised by this, with what seems like every year. This folks is why Roy gets paid the big bucks and is a HOF. Does he make mistakes? Sure, but there has only been one man so far that hasn't. Hate it happened like it did today, but the sun will come up and ol Roy will do the headscratchers down the road. Btw, you do put in the hot hand or sit a guy who clearly is not all there. Good play by some role players today.

***And that is the bottom line!***
You all Bitch and C*R*Y about losing top recruits year end and year out...and then showcase "Luke over Bradly?" JOKE!!!!
Seniority has its place most times, but Luke Maye (wonderful guy I'm sure) will not ever, ever play for a NBA team. Ever. School teacher of the year? Yes! Doctor /Lawyer?? Why not! Tony Bradly however, if handled properly, if developed properly, will no question about it be making his living playing Professional basketball. Therefore to hold him back simply because of seniority is not only badd for recruiting, its damn right irresponsible!!

Yeah anyone who says we should play Luke over Tony is insane. Knox isn't just watching JJ but how Roy showcases his freshman. Tony is a stud and an NBA worthy player. Play him! May I remind everyone we root for the best interests of the team and that doesn't mean we have to be blindly loyal to Roy in every situation.

Bingo!

There is no excuse that can justify the limited minutes Bradley saw today. No excuse whatsoever. Like Roy or not, I don't know another coach in America that gets away with the boneheaded shit that Roy does at this point in his career. If you don't think this shit has an affect on the recruiting trail then you are blind to reality.

Didn't get to watch today because I had to work until 8 this morning and back again tonight. Kinda sounds like for my blood pressures sake it was a good thing.

Consider yourself grateful.worst Carolina performance in years, considering the inferiority of the opponent.

Hope Theo comes back soon. Kenny looking merely serviceable. We need more than that from a starting 2.

And to be honest, the only reason Tony appeared to have had a bad game was not because he played poorly, his game only suffered due to lack of outside shooting. GT simply packed everything in, clogging passing lanes and giving our bigs no space to operate. If the shots were falling Tony Bradly, like most games he's played to date, he would have done the same s@!# that has captured the eye of NBA GMs. Balling!

Butter why you think that is with Kenny? Seems like every once and a while he makes a huge, balls to the wall play, then seemingly sinks back into his shell. Kinda odd to watch a times. Just wondering what others think.
