How would you like it if YOU ended up on that list after having committed no crimes?
It's all good until it get's pointed at you, isn't it? Highly impractical and even more invasive. I'm glad you're not in charge!

I already operate as if I am, FWIW. I'm not on Facebook and am extremely careful to re-read my emails before hitting "Send." Don't put anything on the internet that you don't want the world to know. If I were stupid enough to put anything out there that would raise red flags, then I would say I deserve to be on a blacklist denying me the privilege to own any type of potentially-harmful device. That would be "internet-Darwinism" at it's finest.

I have 3 loaded handguns in my house, all "hidden" in places where I or my wife could get to them quickly ... and places my kids don't know about and will NEVER find. Home gun ownership boils down to personal responsibility, like so many other things in life.

People will NEVER stop being deranged idiots. The first siblings on earth had a fight that ended in murder. Make gun ownership as hard as possible, it will never change the lunatics from committing these tragedies. It's part of the world we live in.

I'm quite sure you can't purchase a pistol that easy. In NC it requires a permit unless it's a private sale. Shotguns and rifles are a different story

I can find a pistol for private sale in about 10 minutes in SC, no permit required. I assume the majority of people who want better gun control laws just want a decent background check required for anyone to own a gun. But networks like Faux news convince their viewers that everyone left of center wants to completely disarm America. And of course there is the inverse of that convincing many on the other side that every one who owns a gun is a nutjob stockpiling a doomsday arsenal
