Article on ESPN insider says the big fella is close to making a decision.
Apologies, can't link it (it's paid content) and I can't even highlight and copy it for you!

But there is an interesting segment in the story:
It say's Udoka was down to Kansas and Florida St until Roy made a big push. He then slowed his decision process and backed off making a quick decision. This was in November.

I hope it pays off, would really like to see another quality big in next years team.

I don't think we're 3rd at all ..maybe 2nd but neck and neck with FSU as of right now

I read last week that the FSU team watched a recent game of Udoka's, and he was very impressed by them being there?

If Roy is able to pull Udoka out from under the noses of FSU and Kansas, it will be one of Roy's best recruiting jobs in a while, especially since Udoka is from Florida!

Hope we can land this guy because he prefers to play inside, and that's exactly what we need moving forward!

This guy is a game changer for us. I hope Roy pulls some of that magic and snatches his people up!

Go Roy!

FSU may very well get this young man to sign on the dotted line, before this is all said and done. However, UNC is College Basketball Royalty. The rafters speak thunderous volumes of success from every angle. Udoka would be the biggest addition this upcoming spring. However, it will be hard to get him out of Florida (jmho). UNC is the perfect match for this young man. Hope that he may still yet see this before his final decision is made...

dook is now recruiting Azubuike. he now lists his teams as FSU , Kansas , UNC and dook. He heard from the dark side yesterday.

Duooke being in this recruitment is a joke to me. Who, just WHOM teaches post moves to Marshall Plumblee? Talk about a possible quick way to miss the Nba (jmho), then Duke would be the pick in my view. BTW, what took "K"ay so long? He is winding down with the USA Basketball gig anyway. I just do not see this ever actually happening. Then again, that is just me...

Don't know anything about the kid other than he looks the part of a big time prospect but is ranked in the 20's. Is he a late bloomer? Is he going to put in the work?

Looks like Capel is putting the Bag Men on the case....Not good for FSU,KU,and UNC...It is not if Capel will destroy the Evil Empire it's a matter of when....

I just read an interview with Udoka yesterday where he listed UNC (was named first), FSU and KU as the three schools he's considering. The interview then asked if moo is still recruiting him and he answered, "pretty much" (lol). But there was no mention of duke at all. Where is this duke stuff coming from? Link?

I would shit myself if we were able to land this big fella. Throw in Alkins too and our class is an absolute monster. But I don't see it happening. I think we can get one of the two, but I doubt both. We just haven't had that kind of luck recently.

I really think this kid is CRITICAL for us, HUGE HUGE key for us, I want him in a Tar Heel uniform BAD!

Ok, so I just now read another article where he does mention that duke contacted yesterday. And the article insinuates this is a two team race between FSU and KU with the odds on FSU. Not looking good for us, I suppose. Bummer. We need him.

Although, with that said, Bradley just showed off yesterday in a tournament where he went for 27 and 21. Evan Daniels and a few others were tweeting about him saying he has great hands, great touch out to 10' and is a volume rebounder. I like all of that. His team lost but people say that he has no help.

If Meeks and Hicks are both back next year, we'll be ok with just Bradley coming in. If one of those two leave (god forbid, both), we're in deep doo-doo if we don't get another big. I believe in Maye, but he can't be our only option.

You may not want to wear light colored pants on the day Udoka is scheduled to commit.

I agree, our style of play feeds and features big men inside the paint, exactly what this kid is. Combine that with the fact that we are losing 2 big men after this season and only have 1 committed, plenty of playing time but room enough that he can have the time to learn and not have the heavy expectations of having to be a ALL American in his freshman year.

Kid is a full grown man, looks like a more agile and more athletic version of Joel James and seems to play with a little bit of an edge, LOVE that!

I expect him to FSU. Especially with the FSU freshman right now and most saying they are a big man away from being great. My thoughts.

I see why puke wants him; they have never had such an athletic screen setter! ratty is selling him on being the first ever stretch 5!

Come join the Family Wizard of Az!

Roy is a great Big coach and our O features skilled bigs, how can you lose? We also could win the Natty, baby!

Yeah but you have to question how long they will have that freshman class in tact. Also, this kid is a monster in the right scheme but FSU is really wasting a heck of a lot of big man talent. They had what, 3 7 footers last season, did zip with all that, not just stiffs either, I mean serious big men with big time upsides.

Not saying he will not end up at FSU, that may be the best bet, but the type of player he is really needs to be developed and needs a system that feeds the ball in to him in scoring position and that just is not FSU, he fits Roy's schemes in the half court perfectly! This kid is a stronger, more athletic, and more aggressive version of Joel James, Joel James, who just happens to be playing in his last season for us, what a replacement this kid would be!

Guess that must be the chapter titled "How to Recruit Another Teams Kid Even Though We Don't Need Him or Have a Scholarship Available Just So It Screws Up Your Opportunity". It's in bad back's new book "Ethics, Volume III"... forward written by his former loyal assistant...

Wonder if the "Wizard of AZ" was present during Beast Johnsons dismantling of FSU last night ? That's how UNC develops and uses their big men.

If he is a student of the game, which he seems to be, how can you not take notice of what Brice did to the supposed "leader" of your recruitment. If a big man like him can't get excited about a UNC offer, then we should move on. Duke has had some success with bigs, just not on a consistent basis like the Heels. Same with Kansas. FSU bigs do well for Hamilton, but none make it to the NBA.

With due respect, I just haven't seen alot of big man development from FSU .. ever. But I don't follow FSU that closely.

Kinda OT but related to recruiting. Anyone else want to vomit every time ESPN runs those commercials with k? Still don't see how active coaches can be doing those spots.

Somewhat Related to your OT, but this commercial with Krhfewmjaonfsyki was pretty decent. Also features some other faces you might recognize:

After visiting FSU's stadium last night, I just don't understand how a kid with a choice to play there or at the Smith Center would even think twice.

Good point, and another point is that FSU just don't seem to look for the big guys inside with Rathan-Mayes and the two freshman guards Beasley and Bacon looking to do most of the playmaking and scoring....Bojanski seems like he's still playing about the same way he has been the last couple of years, and I didn't see any improvement from him the other night as Brice schooled him and the other FSU big all night long, and Brice is not a post player, but rather more of a power forward...

If Udoka is serious about his future NBA status, he will choose UNC because like someone mentioned above: Carolina wants to feed the post on every possible possession!

The game of basketball should be played from the inside out, and that is how Carolina basketball has always been played....

Hopefully, the young big man will get some good advice from people who are looking out for his best interest, and his best interest should be to play for a team that will help him grow as a player and a man, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is that place.........

In addition, which College has a lot of NBA connections from the top on down?

That school would be the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

Hopefully, the big guy will see through all the recruiting BS, and come to realize that UNC is the play to be!
