OK, so we've discussed best ever at UNC, top 20 shooters etc, etc. Now here's a different take.

Imagine if you could jump into your hot-tub-time machine and pick up any former Tar Heel at the peak of their college career. Who would you get to join this year's team?

eg:
Centre, would you take Sam Perkins, Brad Daugherty, Eric Montross or Brendan Haywood?
Forward, would you take Worthy, Sheed, Jaimeson or Psycho T?
etc.

Keep in mind, Roy has one open roster spot for 15-16 so the player you're pick might not be the G.O.A.T but instead could be a player that fills a need on the current team.

Oh yeah, it'd be nice to know your rationale too!

I will go outside the box a bit. This team has tons of potential they just need to play up their abilities and bring some attitude to the court. Give me a senior George Lynch who will instill his warrior mentality and keep the locker room focus on the team. From his vicious jam against Georgetown as a frosh to his leadership in '93 he is one the best team leaders I have ever seen.

Second choice would be Rasheed just to see what he would do in Roy's up tempo pace.

Lawson at his peak was the shooter we need, the speed we need, and the point that most helps everybody else reach their potential.

Could look for a shooter, but c'mon Mike at the two guard all day everyday.

There's a lot of "obvious" answers, and I could easily pick Hansbrough, Jordan, Ford, Jamison, and on and on and on, but I'm gonna go off the beaten path here and take Kendall Marshall. A guy who can set up his teammates with ease, but knock down the shot when he's left open is a guy who would thrive on this team. If Brice, Meeks, Jackson, Pinson, and Hicks are running the floor, Kendall would be able to find them, plus it takes some of the ball handling pressure away from Marcus. He was just so good at finding open guys in the right position, and for a team that can struggle offensively at times, it would be great to have a guy who was terrific at facilitating easy baskets.

Fun question. I'll stretch it outside and pick someone that was NOT an All-American just to eliminate the obvious.

How about our current coach Hubert Davis? Can you imagine having Marcus Paige, Hubert Davis and Justin Jackson starting 1-2-3? Talk about stretching the defense out and opening up the middle for Brice and Meeks to go to work!

Gimme Jamison to put on the floor with Berry, Paige, Jackson, & Johnson.
