Gallen retires the first two batters, but the third gets an infield hit on a dinker to 3rd.

The next batter hits a fly ball in the gap between left and center. Skye Bolt looked like he would be able to get to it, but the heavy wind in Clemson caused him to miss a ball he probably thought he would snag. Run scores as the Clemson batter advances to 2nd.

Next batter drives one down the 3rd base line to score another run with the second straight double.

Ground out to 2nd ends the inning but the Tigers score 2 runs on 3 hits with no errors. Good guys trail 2-0 early.

UNC surrenders 3 more runs in the 3rd. Long way to go, but the Heels have dug themselves into a 5-0 hole. Top of the 4th.

Clemson gets a runner on with 1 out and a sacrifice to advance him to 2nd. 2 outs. After an intentional walk, Zach Rice comes in to get the last batter on a ground out.

Heels can't do anything in the final inning and fall 5-2 to Clemson.

They'll play game 2 tomorrow night at 6:30.
