Well, JB and Cam have played their asses off tonight, especially in the second half. Can't fault them for this loss, if we do lose.

That's silly. A single strong game doesn't make up for a mediocre season. This game wasn't his fault, but he's not broadly beyond criticism.
That might be the last win of the season for this team.
We're lowkey at risk of missing the tournament. It's not super likely, but the possibility is in play.

It absolutely is a real possibility. Outside of the Pitt game, where are the wins gonna come from?
If we continue to let teams make 15 3’s in a game at a 50% clip we’re not beating anyone. Its too hard to win when teams get over half their scoring off of 3 pointers
Well, you put yourself that far behind in the first half, it is hard to win ball games. Had they played defense in the first half like they did in the second half, this one wouldn't have been close. I hope this will finally break them out of this funk. I guess we shall see.
Good to see Cam play as well as he did. I think if he can maintain that and we get a better game from JB and Luke or Theo (assuming he isn't hurt too bad), we will be fine offensively. Defensively, we have to play and entire game like we did the second half tonight.

Roy will never change, it’s just his style. But yes. I agree he SHOULD look into more modern defensive plays.
IMO we have some scholarships that shouldn't have ever been given out. I understand that we were up against negative recruiting along with the scandal and couldn't pick and choose who we wanted but it's now an issue.
One of our stronger defensive guys, Kenny Williams, had two horrible defensive lapses in the clutch. First he gets totally swallowed up by the pick to leave a wide open 3 late in the shot clock.
Second after a decent defensive possession which garnered a miss, but the lone Tiger under the basket was allowed to get the crucial rebound, they then held till under 10 on the shot clock out at half court, then inexplicably Kenny allows a straight line drive from 20 plus feet out into the paint, leading to the dish to Thomas for the layup. Zero resistance, with no "move" being made. Just a straight line drive. WOW

Pitt is guaranteed. Stop being crazy. Pitt has one of the worst teams in all of college basketball.
We are now seeing the results of shitty recruiting over the last 3 classes, amplified by Roy giving out schollies to kids who don’t belong at Carolina (freshman bigs, etc). They give us nothing. We’d be equally as productive with those schollies in our pocket. We are now stuck with some of these kids for the next 3 years unless we can run them off.
Our freshmen played 54 minutes in today's game.
How do you see that game going without them?
Roy scrambled to get players. He got some that he would never have targeted in previous years, got transfers, and got walkons. He did what he could to give us our best chance.
Right about now it looks like that isn't quite enough. But the idea that we would be better off with those scholarships sitting on the shelf strikes me as off base.
Yeah, there may well be a price to pay. If these guys don't come along, we could be spreading the pain over the next couple of years. But I think they'll turn out to be decent.
And here's the thing. Without those players, we don't do as well. And that hurts recruiting, too. So even if we save those scholarships, we may not get the recruits you want.
Well, I made the mistake of looking at the box score. I knew Berry and Cam carried us, but jeez. The rest of the team accounted for 19 points on 8/28 shooting.... that's definitely not gonna cut it.
